Divertimento II

The piece is inspired by a personal journey through depression recovery, taking on a non-linear process. Rather than transforming smoothly and gradually from darkness towards a bright ending, the music goes through a juxtaposition of contrasting episodes between pressing dark and anxiously bright sections, both individually progressing into milder darkness and more optimistic bright episodes, ultimately culminating in a third sound world derived from the two. For most depression survivors, the dark episodes never go away, so they learn to live with it; In the final section, the two sound worlds are merged, creating a tumultuous and confused state, then transforming towards acceptance and groundedness, while a sense of decay persists, acknowledging how the peace might crumble anytime.
