ISKRA DELTA log in. Morning teleport gives way to a rush of high dopamine emails and missed calls. Boardroom sound theme animates the hallways, kick-starting the processes of complex problem solving and multilayered global communication. The hyper-operation continues in the power-dancing zone, a standard procedure of declutterification of the corpo-mind with energetic-pop emotional engineering. The drones power up, and you’re off to the city. Swarming through the neon-lit tubes particles enter their mindful practice cubicles to generate some peace and quiet. Meanwhile, the gravity-elevator takes the authorised ISKRA DELTA care-squad to the top of the 112 floor highrise, a sanctuary for state-of-the-art technological artefacts that keep the brisk tempo of life going. In the simulation the sun rises again and nebula is refracted in the surface of the bio-digital city.

Blending sci-fi sonics with infectious & ethereal vocal melodies, ''Where The Willow Weeps" is a meditation on in-vain attempts to repress emotions that can't be resisted and the cathartic release that can come from accepting these unavoidable feelings. “The Latin derivative of the word ‘emotion’ literally stands for ‘energy in motion’. This song is my attempt to articulate this sensation of an emotional purge that occurs within you and the release you feel as it happens” Happy New Tears adds.

''Where The Willow Weeps'' comes complete with a mix and master by Amnesia Scanner-collaborating artist Sin Maldita and a visceral music video by Ouroboros, the director-duo consisting of Jeremy Carne & Nikolas Kasinos. The striking video frames Happy New Tears within breath-taking natural landscapes, metaphorically emulating the powerful emotions the song alludes to.

Returning to World Canvas after his previous work ‘Distilled’ in 2020, Comastasis (Markus Kauppi) presents his latest piece of music ‘Photoantithesis, Concerto For Petromodernity’. In the vein of his conceptual approach to compositional practice ‘Photoantithesis’ follows and engages with theoretically informed themes of oil and its ontology, the way a contemporary fossil subject is to great extent determined by oil and its flow within societies.
Additionally, the release draws inspiration and thematic outlines from the ongoing eco catastrophe and a historical materialism and new materialism related ideas about limitations of human agency (in terms of making history), where ideology and philosophical abstractions are outlined by material conditions, flowing from the outside in.

Through its compositional properties, ‘Photoantithesis’ utilises an arbitrarily moving feedback loops, stochastic synthesiser patterns and improvised noise and vocal passages. These elements, which present themselves throughout the course of the work function as embedded layers which communicate with an ever-present dark sound of a murmuring, oily surge. Over the course of its 9 tracks, the release drifts between drones, soundscapes and beats, balancing between explorative and occasionally conventional, at points reminiscent of Comastasis’ most recent club music -inclined work, ‘Ross 308’ on the Italian label paynomindtous.

As a “photoantithesis”, the album addresses a question about reversed photosynthesis, where once photosynthesised forms of energy are currently being released via exploitative practices which are destroying the habitable conditions of each and every living creature and organism.
