Shadowrun

The first Nocturnal Wonderland took place 19 years ago on February 11. Insomniac Event's second big production, following the success of its one-year anniversary party the year before, was an exciting event. Mojo, one of the early Insomniac residents, provides a throwback vinyl mix to give a taste of the sounds one would have heard that evening. This track was created after watching two tutorial videos: one about arpeggios (thank you Distort the Preamp) and one about negative space in mixing (thank you Mercurial Tones Academy). This is now one of my favorites I've ever done.

This record is, in many ways, a distillation of ideas JakoJako has been exploring for years. Tapping into a deep understanding of machine-based music and illuminated by references to her heritage, Tết 41 reflects on notions of rebirth, and the pursuit of a sonic core.
