Before the desperately awaited Spring begins to bloom, we can sit back, relax, let the waves circulate and travel once again. This time we will be guided by our adept from the east: Vanta.
Influenced by his metal- and hardcore background as well as the vital techno scene in Leipzig with its infamous Institut für Zukunft, his focal points are impulsive rhythms, dissociative sounds and dark and eerie atmospheres.

As a founding member of PVC he also co-organises techno parties in clubs and intimate raves in the forests of the Leipzig area. 
For a few years now he has been exploring the world of producing. Shaping and refining his sound with his own releases on labels like Crescent London, Further Sessions, Proselytizing and lately with us, he is further establishing himself in the scene and is definitely a guy to reckon with in the future. 
So better stay on the lookout for this emerging talent!

For the fourth episode of our podcast series Vanta takes you on an epic, two-hour odyssey, navigating from the shallow waters of moonlit nights, meeting big swarms of flying fish, unknown gurgling sea creatures and bewitchingly singing sirens, into darker aquatic landscapes, full of hypnotic grooves and shuffling rhythms that will pull you deep down into the ever-flowing waters of the vortex...

Fernie travels through his self-made solar system, each planet a different sonic horizon - one pulses with tribalistic rhythms wrapped in mystical atmopsheres, another breathes with organic tones like growing roots and humming birds. On every world, he gathers mind-altering tones like stardust. By the time he returns to his sun, he has composed a universe.

Originating from Glasgow Fernie has a longstanding association with the local Scottish scene having been involved and actively running events since the early 2000’s. Most recently he has been continuing to shape and grow his sound design both through production and live DJ performances. He also acts as podcast curator for respected Norwegian techno platform Monument and has releases spanning across a myriad of labels including KVLTO, BAHN and Informa. Apart from that you may know him as the mind behind Space Textures which acts as an outlet for high-quality atmospheric deep techno.

Fernie takes us on a two-hour expedition where we hear him blend deep electronics with hazy atmospheres, brain-attracting psychedelics and extraterrestrial organics, staying true to his origins in space texture while venturing into a whole new set of cosmic ecosystems.

A few months after our successful Saüle debut, here we go again for a second round of genre-busting, boundary-pushing sonic exploration. Embracing the Idea of techno as a means of transcending our condition, both as conscious and subconscious beings, this series offers a platform for artists to express themselves with enhanced scope and purpose. For this second installment which will take place on 5 June, RYC invites a trio of musicians who’ve been pushing the envelope of techno and electronics to a broader extent. A name synonymous with bold dynamics and cutting-edge approach, London-based producer Jin Synth will take us on a mind-bending ride down her intricate rhythmic algebra and layers of hypnotic, otherworldly sonics. A jack-of-all-trades whose hybrid, unhindered vision for music has driven to all ends of the techno spectrum, the one and only DJ Pete will join us for a hectic parade of breaks-laden, bass-heavy weapons and dubbed-out tangents. Chief explorer of lushly textured folds and immersive cinematic arcs, dub techno maestro Magna Pia will take over the decks for one of those moments on the dance floor when functional innovation fuses with multi-sensory exaltation.

DJ Nobu has long been Japan's best kept secret, but lately it feels like the cat is well out of the bag as his global touring schedule fills up for 2016. Nobu has been producing the legendary Future Terror parties in Japan since 2001 and launched his Bitta label in 2012. More than anything though, he is known for his completely unpredictable yet always mind-melting DJ sets. We were totally floored by both his prime-time set at The Bunker in Tokyo and his opening set at The Bunker in Osaka in September, 2015. He will be playing the closing set of The Bunker NY takeover of Berghain in February, making his North American debut at The Bunker in Brooklyn in March, in addition to playing alongside The Bunker resident Eric Cloutier at Smart Bar in Chicago. Few DJs demonstrate the depth of vision that seems to come naturally to Nobu.
