I’m sorry, but I don’t want to be an emperor. That’s not my business. I don’t want to rule or conquer anyone. I should like to help everyone - if possible - Jew, Gentile - black man - white. We all want to help one another. Human beings are like that. We want to live by each other’s happiness - not by each other’s misery. We don’t want to hate and despise one another. In this world there is room for everyone. And the good earth is rich and can provide for everyone. The way of life can be free and beautiful, but we have lost the way.

Greed has poisoned men’s souls, has barricaded the world with hate, has goose-stepped us into misery and bloodshed. We have developed speed, but we have shut ourselves in. Machinery that gives abundance has left us in want. Our knowledge has made us cynical. Our cleverness, hard and unkind. We think too much and feel too little. More than machinery we need humanity. More than cleverness we need kindness and gentleness. Without these qualities, life will be violent and all will be lost....

The aeroplane and the radio have brought us closer together. The very nature of these inventions cries out for the goodness in men - cries out for universal brotherhood - for the unity of us all. Even now my voice is reaching millions throughout the world - millions of despairing men, women, and little children - victims of a system that makes men torture and imprison innocent people.

To those who can hear me, I say - do not despair. The misery that is now upon us is but the passing of greed - the bitterness of men who fear the way of human progress. The hate of men will pass, and dictators die, and the power they took from the people will return to the people. And so long as men die, liberty will never perish. .....

Soldiers! don’t give yourselves to brutes - men who despise you - enslave you - who regiment your lives - tell you what to do - what to think and what to feel! Who drill you - diet you - treat you like cattle, use you as cannon fodder. Don’t give yourselves to these unnatural men - machine men with machine minds and machine hearts! You are not machines! You are not cattle! You are men! You have the love of humanity in your hearts! You don’t hate! Only the unloved hate - the unloved and the unnatural! Soldiers! Don’t fight for slavery! Fight for liberty!

In the 17th Chapter of St Luke it is written: “the Kingdom of God is within man” - not one man nor a group of men, but in all men! In you! You, the people have the power - the power to create machines. The power to create happiness! You, the people, have the power to make this life free and beautiful, to make this life a wonderful adventure.

Then - in the name of democracy - let us use that power - let us all unite. Let us fight for a new world - a decent world that will give men a chance to work - that will give youth a future and old age a security. By the promise of these things, brutes have risen to power. But they lie! They do not fulfil that promise. They never will!

Dictators free themselves but they enslave the people! Now let us fight to fulfil that promise! Let us fight to free the world - to do away with national barriers - to do away with greed, with hate and intolerance. Let us fight for a world of reason, a world where science and progress will lead to all men’s happiness. Soldiers! in the name of democracy, let us all unite!

"What is the biblical understanding of the wrath of God?"

Answer:
Anger is defined as "the emotional response to the perception of evil and injustice," often translated as "anger," "indignation," "anger," or "irritation." Both humans and God express anger. However, there is a great difference between the wrath of God and that of man. The wrath of God is holy and always justified; that of man is never holy and is rarely justified.

In the Old Testament, God's wrath is a divine response to man's disobedience and sin. Idolatry was often the motive for divine wrath. Psalm 78: 56-66 describes the idolatry of Israel. The wrath of God is constantly directed to those who do not follow His will (Deuteronomy 1: 26-46, Joshua 7: 1; Psalm 2: 1-6). Old Testament prophets often wrote one day in the future, the "day of wrath" (Zephaniah 1: 14-15). God's wrath against sin and disobedience is perfectly justified because His plan for humanity is holy and perfect, just as God is holy and perfect. God has provided a way for us to gain divine favor - repentance - which drives away the wrath of God from the sinner. To reject the perfect plan is to reject God's love, mercy, grace, and favor, and incur His just anger.
In the New Testament, Jesus' teachings support the concept of God as a God of wrath who judges sin. The story of the rich man and the lazar speaks of the judgment of God and of the graves is important to the sinner who does not repent (Luke 16: 19-31). Jesus said in John 3:36, "Who does not have eternal life, who is no longer a life but an wrath of God abides on him." He who believes in the Son is not a child of God because of his sin because the Son took upon himself the wrath of God when he died in our place on the cross (Romans 5: 6-11). Those who are not born are not those who are not due (Romans 2: 5-6).

On the other hand, Romans 12:19, Ephesians 4:26 and Colossians 3: 8-10 warn us against human wrath. Only God is avenging himself that revenge is perfect and holy, while man is sinful, opening a door to demonic influence. Enéas Ferreira Carneiro nasceu na cidade de Rio Branco, no estado do Acre, em 1938. Filho de Eustáquio José Carneiro, barbeiro, e Mina Ferreiro Carneiro, dona de casa.[17] Perdeu o pai aos nove anos de idade, sendo obrigado a trabalhar desde essa idade para sustentar a si e à sua mãe.[4] Quando nasceu, sua família estava em condições de miséria. Se mudou para Belém do Pará, com condições financeiras um pouco melhores, onde morou em um barraco e tinha como alimentação farinha e café.[18]

Foi casado com Jamile Augusta Ferreira, que conheceu na Escola de medicina e cirurgia do rio de janeiro. Enéas a conheceu quando estava lendo um livro de ciências exatas, sendo abordado por ela, interessada pela leitura, posteriormente tornando-se sua namorada.[19] O casal teve uma filha, quando terminaram os estudos na escola de medicina, chamada Janete. Cinco anos mais tarde teve outra filha chamada Gabriela com Selene Maria, relacionamento que, como o anterior, não foi duradouro. Enéas, por volta de 1982, casou-se com a promotora da auditoria militar, Adriana Lorandi. Com ela teve sua terceira filha, Lígia. O casal se separou pois para criar o Prona Enéas precisou se desfazer de muitos bens.[20] "Ela não aguentou. Torrei todo meu patrimônio, uns imóveis e joias porque queria construir o Prona".[19]

Carreira
Estudos e serviço militar

Enéas quando era estudante da Universidade do Estado da Guanabara
Em 1958 iniciou seus estudos no Rio de Janeiro, na Escola de Saúde do Exército. Em 1959 formou-se terceiro-sargento auxiliar de anestesiologia, sendo primeiro lugar de sua turma.[4]

Em 1960 iniciou seus estudos na Escola de Medicina e Cirurgia do Rio de Janeiro.[4]

Em fevereiro de 1962, prestou exame vestibular para a Faculdade de Filosofia, Ciências e Letras da Universidade do Estado da Guanabara (atual UERJ), curso de licenciatura em matemática e física. Aprovado em primeiro lugar. No mesmo ano iniciou atividade como professor destas disciplinas, preparando alunos para vestibulares.[21]

Em 1965 formou-se médico pela já citada Escola de Medicina e Cirurgia do Rio de Janeiro, pedindo então baixa do Exército, após 8 anos de serviço ativo no Hospital Central do Exército, onde auxiliou os médicos em mais de 5.000 anestesias, já tendo recebido a medalha Marechal Hermes.[4]

Em 1968 diplomou-se licenciado em Matemática e Física pela Faculdade de Filosofia, Ciências e Letras da Universidade do Estado da Guanabara e fundou o Curso Gradiente, pré-universitário, do qual foi diretor-presidente e onde lecionou matemática, física, química, biologia e português.[4]

Em 1969 fez o curso de especialização em cardiologia na 6ª Enfermaria da Santa Casa da Misericórdia do Rio de Janeiro e, a partir daí, foi integrado como assistente naquele Serviço de Cardiologia.[4]

De 1973 a 1975 fez um mestrado em cardiologia na Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro. Nesse período ministrou também aulas de fisiologia e semiologia cardiovascular na mesma universidade. Em 1975 apresentou a primeira versão de seu famoso curso O Eletrocardiograma, no Rio de Janeiro, mais tarde ministrado em São Paulo (1983), Quito - Equador (1985) e novamente no Rio de Janeiro (1986), dessa vez como curso nacional, ocorrido no Copacabana Palace.[4]

Em 1976 defendeu sua dissertação de mestrado, "Alentecimento da Condução AV", e recebeu o título de mestre em cardiologia pela UFRJ. Ainda em 1976 escreveu o livro O Eletrocardiograma, referência no gênero.[4] Publicado em 1977 e reeditado em 1987 como O Eletrocardiograma: 10 anos depois, essa obra é conhecida no meio médico como a "bíblia do Enéas".[22]

De acordo com Enéas, ele já trabalhou em construção civil como apontador de obras, foi tradutor de inglês, trabalhou em açougue e foi auxiliar de escritório.[23]
