Luigi Madonna’s record label, Contempo presents a high-energy techno release by Manuel Di Martino that fuses raw sound design with immersive atmospherics.

Manuel Di Martino is an Italian artist currently living in Berlin where he plays regularly at prestigious clubs such as Tresor. He is also an accomplished producer known for his tracks on respected techno record labels such as Coyu's Suara, Marco Faraone's UNCAGE, Ricardo Garduno's Illegal Alien and Evod Music. He also runs his own imprints, Parallel 41, Persistence and Ribbon, which have been regular outlets for his music.

"Citylife" opens the release with its fast-paced tribal percussion and deep synth stabs that layer with atmospheric vocal tones. "I Spent My Days" has hypnotic, dubby pads and sensual vocal tones fused with high-velocity rhythms and trippy vocals. "G1.0" is a jackin’ track with explosive percussion vocal stabs and thrashing hi-hats. "See Ya In PV" closes out the release with laser-focused synths that swell with intensity as they unfold over a driving kick drum and punishing clap rhythms.

Adana Twins latest effort, 'Heroe', gets the remix treatment, as krankbrother, SevenDoors and Dino Lenny each deliver for Exploited.

Formed of Friso and Take It Easy (they're unrelated, despite the name), Hamburg duo Adana Twins have been making a lost of noise in recent years, and following hits for the label in 2012, Exploited seems to have become somewhat of a spiritual home for them.

Now that imprint has drafted in three top producers to have a crack at the Twins' track 'Heroe', and after hearing what Italian, Dino Lenny, came up with, we knew we had to share it with you loyal DT readers. An atmospheric affair, punctuated by a simple but sturdy four-to-the-floor beat, Dino's remix can be streamed below.

The 'Heroe' remixes drop Monday 5th October via Beatport with an iTunes release following on October 19th.

What stands Marcel Fengler apart, as well as his knack for refined atmosphere, is his widescreen vision: he reaches for records from all across the electronic spectrum and from throughout the ages. His official mix for Berghain proved that, snaking as it did through a number of different moods and grooves, but all with a sense of cohesion that betrays his many years behind the decks. As a producer, too, he has amassed an assured body of work on Ostgut Ton in both LP and EP format that is fantastically functional. 

The mix Fengler has put together for us is a high impact hour of firmly rooted rollers embellished with spooky synths and knotted acid, kinked drum lines and insistent claps. Always on a smooth upward trajectory, it is a mix that you can feel transporting you to another realm and one that manages to balance punishing passages with airier moments of trance inducing atmosphere. As such it packs a lot in, but never feels rushed, and leaves you desperate for more.

Sound> Classifying Flores’s sound is a difficult feat, and that is precisely the  point. His personality and experience are present in every track he produces, resulting in a dark, groove driven sound. Luis’s interaction with the machine becomes the listeners’ interaction with auditory landscapes of eeriness, altered states and paranoia. A minimal use of elements results in a rich spectrum of textures and a dark and trippy dance floor pull. Live shows, improvisational in nature, can last anywhere from 2- 5 hours, resulting in a hypnotic exploration of the possibilities of electronic production.

Bio> In the more than 17 years he has been producing electronic music, Luis Flores has not only made a name for himself but has been at the forefront of a movement that made the city of Guadalajara, Mexico, a hot spot for electronic music production and events. At the center of this movement was Nopal Beat Records, a label he ran from 1998 to 2006. At the same time, he also worked with the city’s cultural bureau to produce a string of massive, free public events that could bring electronic music to a wider group of people and provided a stage for local producers.

In 2007, he returned to the studio focused once again in his techno roots which quickly yielded results like his enduring relationship with L.A.’s Droid Behavior or the demand for his live shows.

In 2009 the release of the “Damage” EP on Droid Recordings, established Flores as an international artist with its immediate success, making the charts of artists such as Speedy J, The Detroit Grand Pubbahs and Chris Liebing’s Best 10 of 2009. In 2010, Dietrich Schoenemann’s Hidden Agenda released “Pain + Prosthetics”, an EP which among other things includes a collaboration with Canadian: Vitamins 4 U.

Flores published “Love Your Machine” under the German imprint Micro.Fon the following year. Further exploring the audiovisual aspect of his music, he created the video teaser for the single using J.G. Ballard’s “Crash” as reference and inspiration.

In 2012 he returned to Droid for the release of “New Flesh” which included remixes by label owner Drumcell and CLR’s Brian Sanhaji. This year was also marked by people's interest in his sound with remix requests for legendary names like Jam n Spoon and The Advent.

2013 began with his first collaboration with Berlin based producer Material Object and the release of the “Crowd Control” EP under the Impact Unit moniker for the French label Silent Steps and in 2014 he released “Rituals of Submission” on Detroit’s Blank Code, “Test Pattern” EP in the Spring for CLR and the “Metal” remix for Black Asteroid under EDLX.

He began 2015 with the the release of “43” on Alex Bau’s Credo compilation and with his 3rd release for Droid Recordings, the “Static Forces” EP.

Luis has represented México at the Meet in Beijing, ADE in Amsterdam, Borderline Festival in China, Brussels BEMF, among others.
