This artist tribute is dedicated to the Dutch musician and producer, Matthew Dekay. He’s based in Berlin. Matthew is known for his contributions to the electronic music scene, and has released music under the name MDK. 

In 2011, he collaborated with Lee Burridge to establish the record label All Day I Dream, which has become known for its ethereal, dreamy and melancholic sound.

Matthew's musical background includes classical training, which has influenced his approach to music production. He has always had a passion for electronic music, and has made a name for himself with his ability to blend different genres and styles. 

His musical taste is broad and inclusive, and he has released tracks in various genres, including Organic House, Deep House, Tech House, Electronica, Melodic Techno and Ambient, among others.

Personally, I found Matthew's releases to be highly impressive, and I am always excited to discover his new music. For this mix, I have curated a selection of tracks that showcase his versatility across different genres, and I hope you enjoy the journey.

We welcome Aroma (IND) for the third edition of Soundscapes. Soundscapes curates an artist every month who specializes in crafting unique compositions which transport listeners on an immersive journey through the sonic landscape.

Vaibhav Gupta, known by his artistic moniker Aroma (IND), is a New Delhi-based electronic music producer and DJ. Born and raised in India's capital city, Vaibhav's passion for music emerged with a particular fascination for the guitar, which he began learning at 9. After 2 years, he ventured into exploring other instruments like the keyboard and drums, mastering them through self-study. In 2013, at his first EDM concert headlined by Tiesto, he had a profound awakening. The energy and melodies of electronic music captivated him, fueling his aspirations to become a skilled music producer.


In 2018, after finishing school, Vaibhav started his music production journey with FL Studio. He performed at prestigious clubs in New Delhi alongside artists like R3hab, 22 Bullets, and Timo Hendriks, adopting the alias "Kin3tic."

In 2019, Vaibhav developed a deep passion for Organic House and Downtempo music. Inspired by artists like Aleceo and labels such as Pipe and Pochet, he embraced a new musical alias, "Aroma (IND)." Venturing into producing downtempo music, he released an EP on Kosa Records. Aroma gained recognition as a producer in 2020, securing his first international gig in Bali. He continued to release music on renowned labels and collaborated with notable artists, showcasing his commitment to artistic growth and exploration.

Aroma focuses on Deep House, Organic House, and Downtempo, but also explores genres like Techno, Breaks, Tech House, and Afro House during live performances. His sets cater to the audience while reflecting his artistic inclinations. Influenced by Anjunadeep and All Day I Dream, Aroma blends organic essence with modern electronic sound.

Vaibhav's career has seen significant milestones: Chihaka's remix of "Elysian" on The Purr Music's CERCLE SUNSET playlist and the support for his "Furuha EP" from Fluida, leading to its inclusion in the Anjunadeep Explorations Festival. Upcoming releases include a single on Cafe De Anatolia, an EP on For Senses Records with an Anjunadeep-signed artist remix, and a collaboration with Mimi Page featuring a surprise third collaborator.

Inviting listeners on an expedition to explore their emotional side and dreams, Aroma aims to transcend boundaries and connect on a deeper level. Rooted in gratitude and guided by his influences, Aroma embraces the power of music to evoke emotions, promote self-love, and create a beautiful and transformative sonic experience.
