Here’s the 400th challenge!

As is customary, we celebrate the important numbers with a haiku written by the first person who ever agreed to have their poem reinterpreted into music: Italian haiku writer Andrea Cecon.

Andrea Cecon is a hearing aids technician, a traveller, a haijin published all over the world and also an ebook apprentice. His first ebook won the 3rd place in Sharp Writ Book Awards contest 2011 (category: poetry). Residing in Cividale, Italy, with his wife, Russian haijin Valeria Simonova-Cecon. He finds his inspiration in memories, travels, and the everyday life…

Cicadas (naviarhaiku400)

her eyes laugh louder than her voice
when i see her dance
she plays her games with all the boys
who pose and prance

i know she's aware of me
as i'm dancing there
but i pretend i cannot see
and that i do not care

as i turn i feel her hand
briefly in mine
and for a precious sweet moment
we align

in perfect sync we spin and jump
we rise and fly
as our moment has become
all we live by
