Lukas Lyrestam - The Churn 

Out 24th March on Skint Records. 

Swedish musician / composer / producer Lukas Lyrestam is poised to announce a brand new release with the arrival of the 'The Churn' EP released through Brighton based label Skint Records on 24th March 2021. 

Merging the worlds of 80s pop and contemporary deep house, Lukas Lyrestam bridges the emotional worlds of electronic music with straight retro-rollers. With releases on legendary labels like Skylax Records, Common Labour and many more plus props from legends of the scene like Gerd Janson, Todd Edwards, Mano Le Tough, Soul Clap and more keep an eye on this one as he rolls out a swashbuckling live show filled with guitars and vocal acrobatics.

Lukas says: “It’s a record of two-halves - The Churn a bastard love-child of 90s rave and jangly guitars, while Fire That Burns tackles the concept of raw electronic-pop. Recorded between Berlin, Los Angeles and Stockholm its contemporary dance music that I created while falling in & out of love last year.”

PREMIERE : Lukas Lyrestam - Hang Around (Powel Remix) [Common Labour]

Lukas Lyrestam drops three reworks on his ‘Clouded Edits’ EP via his own Clouded House imprint this week. We’ve got the exclusive premiere of his edit of Prince’s ‘Erotic City (Lyrestam’s Jackin’ 90s version)’ above.

The third release from Lyrestam on Clouded House – after last year’s ‘1989’ and this year’s ‘Can’t Move’ – sees the Swedish producer turn one of Prince’s all-time classics into a jackin’ 4/4 driven slice of funk fueled house.

Speaking about the release, Lyrestam told DJ Mag, “To me, ‘Erotic City’ sums up everything that’s vibrant and exciting about the early days of house music. After this year’s heartbreaking event, the least I could do was try and reimagine it in the 90s vibe that I love so much.”
