NEMESIS is an EP inspired by the Neon Genesis Evangelion series as each song represents a type of angel or eva unit. The focus of the EP is music based on the fight scenes using bass techniques involving neuro like sounds and atmospheric soundscapes and aggressive pushbacks with a slight musical theme to each song. AKU being the only one where the song itself is inspired by the series Samurai Jack, each song is made with lots of thought and inspiration to bring you the NEMESIS sound.

After a successful 2019 including the critically acclaimed ode to rave culture Saxon Street EP, with singles like ‘One More Time’ and ‘London Soul’ gaining support from the scene’s most influential tastemakers and DJs, Insomniax are back with their first release of 2020.

A collaboration with label favourite Miss Trouble, ‘Elements’ opens on a foreboding note, delivering a sinister soundscape right from the start. Combining the dark grit of neuro with the more jovial drums of the genre’s jungle origins, the production pairs perfectly with the distinguished vocals of Miss Trouble for one seriously memorable result. Where the drops deliver an infectious groove, things turn much more ominous as Miss Trouble’s iconic voice becomes more and more robotic, giving the track an apocalyptic flair.

With two Viper favourites coming together on one track, you know the result is going to be nothing short of phenomenal, and the creative forces behind ‘Elements’ certainly don’t disappoint. Following what has already been a hugely successful year for the mysterious producer, Giganti returns to home label Viper with yet another quality record to add to his increasingly impressive resume with ‘The Kraken’. Although little is known about the producer, recent releases like ‘Olympa’, ‘Danger Mouse’, ‘MAD’ featured on Bassrush 4.0, plus remixes for Beat Assassins’ ‘Home Grown’ and Chris Martin & Kanye’s ‘Homecoming’, the one thing that is certain is that Giganti has got a knack for producing dancefloor bangers, earning support from the scene’s most praised DJs and tastemakers already.
‘The Kraken’ opens on an instantly suspenseful note, with elements of a haunted lullaby building a sense of dread and anticipation. Ominous and foreboding, an eerie vocal paves the way for a healthy dose of Giganti’s signature growling bass, resounding out the speakers with criminal intent. Loud, bold, and unapologetic, the unique sound Giganti is forging for himself is evident throughout.
With such an impressive hotstreak in 2020 already, Giganti has turned more than a few heads in the scene, and with good reason. Luka Per aka Smooth was introduced to music at the age of 10, when he began to practice piano. After practicing for 3 years and later on he became more interested in guitar, also in such genres as metal, hardcore etc. When a couple of years passed by he attended his first drum n bass party and he was hooked!

After hearing ‘Under The Moon’ which would appear on Viper Recordings ‘Acts of Mad Men’ album, Smooth was signed to the label and later went onto release his first single ‘7th Sense’ / ‘Squirm’ (feat. KG) on Viper’s sister label, Viper VIP. Smooth is also one half of Telekinesis who recently made their debut on Breed 12 Inch label, as well as one third of City of Dogs, whose track ‘Absolutely Flawless’ was featured on Pendulum’s Radio1 Essential Mix. 

2011 was a breakout year for Smooth, starting off with the massive single 'Feel So Free' on Viper VIP, which was followed by 'Calling' and Smooth's absolutely immense remix of the Matrix & Futurebound classic 'Strength 2 Strength' on Viper's 'Worldwide 001' album. This was followed by two tracks on Viper's 'Summer Slammers 2011' album, with 'Want It' and 'Alienated' (as Telekinesis). 

Smooth has gained a legion of new followers over the course of 2012 with his massive ‘Blinded By The Light EP’ released in January which featured no less than seven essential cuts which showed the amazing range of the young producer. Busy on the remix front as well, Smooth has provided official remixes for smash hits such as Camo & Krooked – ‘Get Dirty’ (feat. TC) and Seven Lions – ‘Below Us’ (feat. Shaz Sparks), as well as the upcoming Matrix & Futurebound single ‘Magnetic Eyes’ (feat. Baby Blue) and Modestep’s new single ‘Another Day’.

Now ready to launch the next chapter of his career, Smooth has set his sights on working towards his debut album on Viper Recordings which will surely catapult him amongst the elite producers in drum and bass. Serving as the first album single, ‘Virgo Cluster’ is the perfect showcase of Smooth’s trademark anthemic dancefloor funk which he is becoming world renown for.
