Smokin' Sessions are extremely excited to announce the new single titled 'Intersection' from one of the label's most celebrated artists that goes by the name of Synkro.

The release is taken from the long-awaited compilation release 'The Session' Vol.2.
The follow-up compilation from the 10-year celebration back in 2017 continues along with the same energy that Smokin' Sessions are so well known for, offering floaty and uplifting productions with detailed beat work, along with that all-important heavy serving of lower frequencies. 
We hear some absolute classics from names such as Djrum, Geode, Versa & Rowl, Escapism Refuge, Occult, Mercy, and some newcomers to the label in the form of Marenn Sukie & Synpal.
There are 5 exclusive, unreleased tracks in total. 2 stunners from Synkro, 1 from Biome, and another 2 from Synpal.

'Intersection' takes it back to that classic Sessions sound of 2 step beats, sub-low weight underpin, and cloud-like pad progressions that fill the higher end of the frequency spectrum.
As you would expect from Synkro, the beats are super detailed and masterfully arranged. An array of percussion and hi-hats, weave in and out of the production throughout, while the pads at the forefront of the mix breath fluidity across the arrangement.
The sub-bass sits subtly enough underneath the track to not draw you away from the melodies, yet pulses enough to give the track warmth and weight.
An instant classic Sessions offering that will be a firm favourite with fans for sure. 

Having released with Exit Records, Brownswood, On The Edge, Deep Heads, Styrax, Auxiliary & Med School, as well as remixes for Model 500, Snow Patrol, Lowb & a plethora more, Synkro has most recently found a home at R&S sister label 'Apollo'.  Major support for Synkro's music has come from names like Chris Coco, Giles Peterson, Mary Anne Hobbs, Prefuse 73 and dBridge. Despite refusing to stick to a single genre, Deft is one of those immediately recognisable producers, which is nice because it means we don’t have to waste any time comparing him to anyone else. 2013 saw the Croydon man skilfully hopping from headphone to dance styles, often within a track, his signature blend of cinematic soundscapes and crisp, intricate percussion covering hip-hop, house, and ambient. What’s more, his noteworthy contributions to the burgeoning UK footwork scene means the young producer can now count Mark Pritchard, DJ Shadow and Rockwell among his biggest fans, and boy does this boy have fans, check this Bandcamp review of his Project Mooncircle EP Voight Kampff:

Anything this magician puts out has a pretty good chance of getting you pregnant right in the good old music hole.

Emeralds opens with bubbling synths, building into epic space-station jungle juke with haunting toplines and heart-shaking bass. Cavernous electronic atmospheres introduce A Little Kiss, which interleaves percussion and stuttering bass with the incredible attention to detail we’ve come to know and love.

Octavia is a feisty younger sister to Loqux & Past, the Maya Jane Coles-championed hit from his Space Hardware EP; warm, headnod house joined by a SHOWER bass-line that roundhouse kicks its older sibling in the face for hogging the limelight. Maintaining the hyper vibes, Perky couples spiky footwork beats with slowly-evolving chords creating euphoric rises and falls, leading perfectly to the epic reflection of closing interlude On The Other Side.

All in all, Deft is an artist who continues to develop in awesome and interesting ways, increasingly able to balance striking dance music with immersive ambience. And finding his path with similarly ambitious labels like WotNot, there’s a not-too-distant future where Deft no longer worries that it’s always greener on the other side.

Its been all change at Smokin Sessions HQ of late with new signing Lewis B kicking up quite a storm. And just when you thought it was safe to sink in to your Smokin Sessions new comfort zone, we would like to present another new talent that goes by the name of DJ Rum. His music is deep and jazzy influenced with a sprinkle of Techno added to the mix to give this bright young spark an absolute unique and fresh flavor that we have been very inspired by. Plead with me is our favorite of the 2 tracks here.
It is rare to get a track at 8 minutes and you don’t want to flick through, but DJ Rum has really managed to keep it interesting throughout the journey of this track.”Emerald” is also just as interesting to hear with a darker edge.

Release date is planned for early June.
