The 'Final Constructions' (Original Mix) track starts off with a processed fat 909 kick and closed hi-hat, when a stereo panned shaker sound joins in. Shortly after followed by a stacked pluck riff. The first break is filled with a simple whoosh and a big cymbal crash. Other breaks have a bell sound motif added. The producers deliberate don't use big breaks, buildup or drops to create a continuous sound. A challenge for Playpat & King, with the 'Final Constructions' track, was to stretch the repetitive riff to the edge. And see how they could differentiate the theme with some simple additives like a monotonous lead sound. Final Constructions asks for a 'let it go' attitude or a 'go with the flow' approach.

Final Constructions (Original Mix)

Playpat & King like to perform on festivals and in clubs. They noticed that Beach clubs have a special ambiance. 'Beachclub' (Original Mix) is inspired by a performance in Ibiza, where it seems the party's go on day and night. That's why the vibrant track starts as if you are dropped in a continuous beach party. The combined Moog pluck and transcendental sequenced sound are layered with Hi-hats accompanied by other subtle drum sounds. With a rush of drum-sounds the music becomes a multidimensional current of interlocking grooves. Playpat & King love to use plucked sounds for the main theme, with Mirage Key Chords giving the track an ebb and flood drive. It doesn't take a lot of imagination to hear some seagulls fly over the sandy shores.

Beachclub (Original Mix)

'Plastic Brain' (Original Mix) starts with a sharp piano chord progression and echoing hi-hats with a steady pace, when the pumping kick and rumbling triple saw bass join in. The soft Velo Lead from an Arp 2600 synthesizer and a Buchla Easel Automodulation are used as a subtle pad, joined by a typical Playpat and King signature from the stereo panned hi-hats. The massive theme is constructed out of three stacked pluck sounds. A big Sylenth1 lead starts the instrumental chorus. The background movement is created by a Hybrid3 Dance Poly and Jupiter 8 Reso Strings. The inspiration for this track was found by the knowledge that our brain has neuroplasticity and can evolve when you stimulate it. The 'use it or lose it' phrase is created by using as many as possible different instruments. In the middle of 'Plastic Brain' the pluck sounds take over the piano theme to represents the fact that you can train and rewire your brain by creating new habits and keep learning.

For the fourth and last track on the 'Final Constructions EP', 'Arabian Nights' (Original Mix), Playpat and King use a woozy and unmoored arrangement that seems to warp time around it. It was created while thinking about touring Dubai, with it's famous 'The World' and 'Palm Jumeirah' wonders. Keep Dubai's flamboyant dance scene, sparkling night life, the 'too good to be true' shopping malls and entertainment in mind. With subtle bells, pulsed sequences and a strong rhythmic bass line 'Arabian Nights' take us on a road trip to an eastern realm with western orientated ambitions. The oriental mid-phrase, insistently reminds the listener that any blissful state is by nature temporary. At its heart, this is music about and for the daily explorations that offers all kinds of new perspectives on the world. The steady beat accompanied by the spoon rhythm and hi-hat groove will keep you going on a mystifying musical adventure.

This track is inspired by the Netflix TV-series 'Stranger Things'. The show takes place in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana in the early-to-mid 1980s. The first season revolves around the disappearance of Will Byers, while the second season explores the repercussions of the mysterious events of season one. The third season focuses on 'forces of evil that are new.' The fourth season will focus on a story outside of Hawkins. Imagine yourself on a parking lot in the 80's near an outdated shopping mall, where a strange mysterious force threatens our existences. There are a lot of questions that needs to be answered before we know what is going on.

Frozen Feet is inspired by the Netflix TV-series Black Mirror. It is an anthology series that taps into our collective unease with the modern world, with each stand-alone episode a sharp, suspenseful tale exploring themes of contemporary techno-paranoia. Without questioning it, technology has transformed all aspects of our lives. Thinking about all what could happen to you, using the modern technology's, might give you very cold, or even frozen, feet.

Game of Thrones was the inspiration for this track. It is an adaptation of A Song of Ice and Fire, George R. R. Martin's series of fantasy novels. This HBO series is set on the fictional continents of Westeros and Essos. Game of Thrones has several plots and a large ensemble cast and follows several story arcs. One arc is about the Iron Throne of the Seven Kingdoms and follows a web of alliances and conflicts among the noble dynasties either vying to claim the throne or fighting for independence from it. Another focuses on the last descendant of the realm's deposed ruling dynasty, who has been exiled and is plotting a return to the throne, while another story arc follows the Night's Watch, a brotherhood defending the realm against the fierce peoples and legendary creatures of the North. You can find it all in these stories back in this majestic sounding track.

Masquerade Ball is inspired by the television series American Gods. This is an American fantasy drama television series. Only days before his scheduled release from prison, Shadow Moon is told his wife has been killed in a car accident, and he is released early to attend the funeral. A series of events delays his trip home, during which time he meets the mysterious Mr. Wednesday. 
Wednesday repeatedly offers Shadow a job, which he refuses until Wednesday reveals that the job waiting for him at home no longer exists. Shadow accepts the offer to become Wednesday's driver/assistant/bodyguard. Shadow finds himself in a hidden world where magic is real, and where the Old Gods fear irrelevance amid the growing power of the New Gods, including Technology and Media. In a grand plan to combat the threat, Mr. Wednesday attempts to unite the Old Gods to defend their existence and rebuild the influence they have lost, leaving Shadow struggling to accept this new world and his place in it. The old and the new Gods expressed by a track starting as a waltz but evolving in a quadruple time.

Luke Dreamhood - Dreamworld Instrumental Previews Pt. 04

Producers Playpat & King have been keeping themselves fairly busy with creative avenues, exploring the flow of a color-storm and positivity, for the 4th Dreamworld Instrumental Previews.

Track 01 ‘Avengers’
The energy on this track is dreamy and nostalgic. A glimmering bassline changes during the trip. Sparkling chords and shiny upbeat pieces of arpeggio synth, with reminiscent layers, keep this instrumental version going. The contemplative scenery with thriving chords and a sparse dose of riffs, that embody the youthful spontaneity, feels like someone is inserting a futuristic past into your eardrums.

Track 02 ‘Last Samurai’
‘Last Samurai’ is a slow-swelling track, containing synths with deliberate intensity. There are electronic beats that crop up throughout the music. The rhythm is modestly, inflated with silent knots that are present in the soundscape. Your wonder what kind of game the Samurai Warrior is playing. This ‘Last Samurai’ doesn’t sound like someone who is surviving, living in constant battle, but is an exploratory trip into eternity.

Track 03 ‘Morning Dew’
The warm meditative vibe, with densely synth-layers and a melodic dissonant chorus, makes ‘Morning Dew’ into a chill dancefloor track. It invokes a kooky 90s vibe with an outer space buzz. Simplicity is the ultimate hook. This track is inspired by walking in a foggy forest with picturesque sunbeams. 

Track 04 ‘Life’s Journey’
‘Life’s Journey’ is constructed on a hopeful sonic soundscape, subtle synth-work and a huge layer of plucks. Broken by a haunting bass arrangement, tranquil peaceful and packed with emotion. The track resonates the internal struggle we seem to ride every day in controlling our life. The air of enigmatic elegance makes the dashing dance-track draped in pulsating mystery, with an amber warmth. Sometimes life seems a race against the clock, until you discover time doesn’t really count.

Track 05 ‘Daydreams’
‘Daydreams’ holds a challenging long rhythm with slow evolving percussion. The sounds are eerie and enigmatic melodic. An emotive force is giving the tune a simultaneously funky and laid-back vibe. The track ebbs and flows beautifully into a slightly chilly ambiance. The gliding percussion places us in the middle of our daily dreams.

Track 06 ‘Nightlife’
At first this production appears to take you back to those times where glimmering sounds; smoothly unpolished synth leads and deep intensity house-driven bass ruled. The chorus embellish in a haunting atmosphere, with nostalgic undertones, softly buzzing synths and percussion sounding like played with spoons. Suddenly you get drawn to the magnetic synth chorus, with a layer of a cheerful piano riff. ‘Nightlife’ perfectly fits into the electronic/dance-club culture realm.
