Danny Howells has long been heralded as one of the electronic dance scenes most formidable crate diggers. 
On April 4th, Howell's Dig Deeper presents : ‘Dig Deeper |Phase One’, which will see him combine his taste for musical genres far beyond that of just house and techno and experiment with this knowledge to fuse together everything dub and disco through to jackin’ and progressive.The final mix stands as a true representation of one of Danny’s sets and features an armful of killer dance floor nuggets such as Vadim Yershov – Cottage Industry (Dave Angel remix), Benny Rodrigues – Dimitri (Russ Gabriel remix), Surrealism – Heat (Alex Dolby &amp; Giorgio Rome NY dub), Tom Budden – Desert Rose, as well a string of Danny’s own cuts in Black Cat, Everything’s Here (Deetron remix) and Flight Home (Matrix Vs Futurebound remix).
With his infectious personality and unique style, Danny has swept the world over with a body of standout releases on imprints that include Bedrock Records, Renaissance Records and Yoshitoshi Records. As a remixer he has applied his touch to the music of artists as diverse as Madonna, Marco Bailey, Bent, Robbie Williams and Felix Da Housecat. In more recent years his focus has been on releasing original productions through his own Dig Deeper label, the likes of which have been licensed to mix albums by artists such as Juan Maclean on his DJ Kicks album, and Cassy for her recent compilation on Cocoon.

Astro Trax Team feat Shola Phillips - The Energy

Since meeting in 2001 Konstantin Atomas and Vasiliv Basalev have been combining efforts and there 
accumulated musical knowledge to create deep emotive disco inspired by the a range of sounds and 
styles. 
 
ʻDonʼt Fly Awayʼ kicks off the EP in true slo-mo fashion, all down tempo beats and twitchy acid lines. 
The track draws on emotive Rhodes chord flourishes and the sensuous vocals provided by Nata 
Tomata to create a warm, feel good groove with its heart in classic disco territory. 
 
ʻDonʼt Fly Away (Jimpster Dub Mix)ʼ ups the tempo into house territory with a subtle sub bass line 
driving the track. The Freerange Records boss displays the smooth deep house sounds he has 
become known for with layered pads and arpeggioʼs creating a rolling groove sure to keep heads 
nodding. ʻDonʼt Fly Away (Jimpster Vocal Mix)ʼ has a more upfront vibe with the main focus on the 
acidic elements of the original and cleverly sampled piano stabs orchestrated to rework the groove into 
a movingly melodic piece of music.  
 
Wrapping up the EP is ʻDonʼt Fly Away (The Maneken Remix)ʼ sticking with the format of the originalʼs 
down tempo feel yet maintaining Manekenʼs own unique sound by using ambient pads, soft piano rolls 
and a retro 80ʼs moog style bass line. 
 
This is undoubtedly a stand out release from the Audio Tonic team and a great example of Nu Discoʼs 
growing popularity worldwide from these Siberian songwriters.

Justin Martin made the very first release on dirtybird records in 2005. Seven years later, he delivers his long awaited debut artist album with the very same smile and fun loving attitude he’s had since the beginning.  "Ghettos & Gardens" is exactly as advertised - a tender and tough collection of songs that build you up with sweeping strings, then break you down with earth shattering basslines. It's sunsets vs. cyclones, roses vs. razors, and bunny rabbits vs. wolverines.    
 
Maybe it's the streets of San Francisco that made his music this way - a place where you can see a beautiful woman and a crippled homeless addict on the same city block. Maybe it's the juxtaposition of the famous dirtybird Golden Gate park parties, where Justin's loving parents make tacos and chop fresh salsa while total freaks lose their minds in front of the massive sound system.  Not a whole lot of producers are just as influenced by E40 as they are by LTJ Bukem, and even fewer of them played the jazz saxophone in high school.
 
Whatever is going on, most people would say that Justin is one of the most charismatic likable DJs to walk the earth. In this album Justin demonstrates his unique ability to blur the lines between musical genres, taking us through beautiful melodies, UK basslines, moody funk and devastating drops. You can hear the meticulous production techniques in every track - from the slow Hip-Hop style of Hood Rich to the heavy duty low-end of Molokini.  The whole thing is fresh and uplifting like the smell of ozone after a lightning strike. Ghettos & Gardens sounds like nothing else out there – it could not have come from anyone but Justin Martin. Such originality is a formidable achievement, and adds to Justin’s reputation as one of the most talented and exciting electronic music producers of our time.

An abundance of classic samples overflowing with soulful fills inspired Baby Prince to record one of his most sensitive vocal messages to date. An ideas man, Baby Prince struggled to get the mix right and tight. So Lonely C swoops in, hits record and lays down the track in one clean shot. Ooohwee! ‘I Want To Squeeze You’ is born. The PillowTalk boys heard the new noise and accepted remix duties without question. Fresh on the trail of this year’s exceptional long player ‘Noir’, Steve Bug returns with perhaps his most deep house-oriented track in a while – ‘The Long Run’.

Teaming up with US house legend Mr. V, who inititally donated vocals only, the collaboration brought up Mr V‘s own interpretation of Bug‘s track. This release is as delicious a serving of classic New York deep house as you will hear all year – or any year.

Dessous’ main man is at the controls, riding out a sumptuous, Rhodes-driven groove that references golden era Kerri Chandler and friends, but remains completely rooted in 2012. Mr V’s spoken word vocal lays out the manifesto for these two house pioneers – both are committed to quality music, made with passion and respect.

Next stop on ‘The Long Run’ is Mr. V’s stunning take on the same track. Ratcheting up the percussive elements, the New York native injects hints of the Latin rhythms that define many of his productions, making this into a stone-cold club banger whatever the party.

Both tracks come with corresponding instrumental versions for the DJs, rounding out this irresistible release that continues Dessous’ outstanding run of releases this year.
