Turn Your Head

In the summer of 2007, on a rainy afternoon in Portland, Maine, I recorded a really, really, really emo version of NOFX's 'Linoleum' in my kitchen. I used my crappy electric guitar and spat lyrics directly into my laptop speaker. This version was first published on this thing called: 'MySpace' in 2007. And I still can't remember the password to this day. So I decided to republish this masterpiece on SoundCloud to relive the past with the past. As I do so well... I feel that this version of NOFX's 'Linoleum' is so lame, that it's good in my own head. And to be a legend in my own time, I start by being a legend in my own mind. I'm pretty damn sure I was drunk at the time of the emotional-home recording, which helps my song sometimes.

My favorite NOFX live show was at Club Babyhead in Providence Rhode Island, along with Lunachicks and Snuff ... Just before the show, me my ghouls, drank 40 ouncers and sang Whitney Houston's 'How will I know' at the top of our lungs, in an alley near Babyhead. A great way to warm up the gears for a NOFX show. I'm sure Fat Mike would approve...

NOFX is a punk rock band formed out of Berkeley, California in 1983, moving to Los Angeles, California soon after. A band diverse in their sound, some songs could be classified as pop-punk, ska, hardcore, rock, and more.

They got the name NOFX while Mike and Eric were trying to think up a cool 'punk' band name. There was an old Boston hardcore band called Negative FX that broke up after the first record and Mike and Eric thought No FX was a cool name. Despite rumors, the name does not mean No Fucking Straightedge.
