Well it’s been a long time coming but finally Critical label boss and all-round entertainer Kasra has put hand to mixing desk and delivered his first full 12” release on the imprint since it began back in 2002. Not only that but he’s done it with one of the most prolific and hot property names in the scene right now, Brazilian born S.P.Y. The result as you’d expect is pure D&B thunder! ‘Surface’ rolls out seriously from the off with a snapping two-step break accompanied by paranoid pads that drift throughout the mix as an unnerving vox drops us suddenly into this no-nonsense Friday night king of the rollers. Torpedo bass stabs rule as it marches along with full force to a deep, intense breakdown that signals the second drop into a more twisted incarnation of the b-line before. Dangerous, cavernous drum & bass from two people with their fingers firmly on the pulse. Moving on and ‘Control’ is a menace from the start with a drawn out intro that sets us up perfectly for the incoming onslaught. Well, here goes my first (finished) multichip track. I was supposed to upload it a few hours later, but i just can't wait anymore, i think i've done enough already.

So, about this track. I've started it even before my famicompo entry, around march-april. I did the intro part, a few frames, and then, famicompo was announced. I've came to the conclusion that it'll be too much for me, so i dropped it, and instead made my famicompo entry completely from scratch - turns out it was the right decision.

Afterwards i haven't touched famitracker at all until December, and then started writing this track again. I've still had the general idea of what i want it to be, so in about 4 months i wrote the rest of it, and now it's finished. I've had to force myself near the end, but at least i tried to be consistent.

Unlike my famicompo entry, this song has a completely different mood. I've imagined it as the real song with vocals, so it's reflected in the way i've done it. 

It's clearly not the best of my ideas, but i tried what i could, and i hope you can enjoy it for what it is :P

Also, i'm going to make an alt channel soon, i will upload old or unfinished things/loops in here, so stay tuned!
