Global Underground launched in November 1996 with DJ Tony de Vit and an album based on his set in Tel Aviv, Israel. Since then, the biggest DJs in the world have appeared on our distinctive and iconic covers: Carl Cox, Solomun, Sasha, Paul Oakenfold, Joris Voorn, Deep Dish, and Danny Tenaglia have all played their part in GU’s long storied history with albums inspired by their sets at incredible locations everywhere from Burning Man to Ibiza. 

My 1st experience with GU was when I've purchased a second hand CD. That was GU 009 Sasha - San Francisco. This mix cd has changed my life. I've been re-discovering this CD in few diffrent phases of my musical journey. If I'm not mistaking that was around early 1999. I was just starting to learn how to DJ. I was sponging all kind of music. My record collection was quite poor at that time and I was deep into trance and techno. However after hearing Sasha on this CD. It was like new world has opened to me. Progressive House. A blend of house and trance. Hypnotic, melodic and atmospheric rhythms. To me that was definition of trance. Just letting the rhythm to guide you on the dance floor. Therefore, as a one of Halloween special. Let's go back to year 2000 and re-discover what was so special about progressive house back then. Why DJs like Sasha, John Digweed, Nick Warren, Danny Howells and Steve Lawler were on top of the world bringing euphoric rhythms to dance floors across the world.

Trippin' In My Ear

Luke Volcano is a Polish native DJ who started his musical journey back in 1998. Due to visiting and relocating to European countries like Germany, Netherlands, Ireland and UK. That exposed him to local scenes and allowed to continue his craft. From DJ gigs expanding to hosting his own radio shows and as promoter and host for his own club nights.

The subtle charm of his mixes encourages a reflective sound which focuses on creating moods with his musical expressions. His uncompromising attitude at the decks masks an unquestioning exploration of the power of spatiality in which every track is given breathing room, and accordingly, takes on a sense of the organic.

It's a work of architectural, structural, ranging from deep and atmospheric electronica, to hard hitting techno, creating a synesthetic aura that is almost as powerful as his record selection. A journey towards the endless pursuit of artistic truth.
