Are computers capable of creativity? This track is an extension of the demo of my latest musicology research - the entire saxophone and piano solos in this track were generated automatically by a program I developed called 'IMPI', which stands for (IMP)rov(I)sational Intelligence.

It's an old sounding Jazz track, similar to the BeBop genre.

Playing around with African poly-rhythms and "naturally" occurring resonance - the 'angelic choir' in the last section is purely a resonant spinoff: no instruments or voices are explicitly making those 'melodies' or 'harmonies'.... i.e. were I to change the tuning system, or reverberation/resonant-filter settings they would a) disappear, or b) sing something else.... (Same goes for the way the poly-rhythms interact with the second and third 4/4 beat)

Interesting how such disparate tuning and rhythmic metrics are so compatible via reverberation and resonance filters....
