For the next installment of our fuelcast series, we hand over the wheels of steel to collector, selector and infamous party host: Almoust Famous! The berlin based dj presents a mix of disco and house music, flavoured with the occasional sprinkle of soulful vibes, crisp 90s hip hop samples and synths. As the co-founder of the ‚Disko, No Disko‘ he brings joy to the people, regardless wether he’s behind the decks or arranges the line up for the party series in the Humboldthain Club in Berlin. With the pandemic shutting down the opportunities for playing in front of likeminded house heads, Almost Famous focuses on bringing positive energy to the people in the form of mixtapes and podcasts, still with the same goal to share music and:

Casually Hanging Out Vol. 6

When I was planning out who to invite for my next guest on the series, there was a few names that came to mind, but inviting the duo, Kassian felt like the right choice. There was a message I received from them when I had only a few mixes on my page. They were asking when my next mix was going up because they were eager to return the support I happily provided to them. They showed so much appreciation towards me, and it gave me so much motivation to keep going. That message defines the type of guys they are; kind, humble and genuine. 

For those who might not know, I am a house head through and through, and these guys know how to produce and selecte some serious heat in that realm. From start to finish this mix is pure quality in every aspect. If you love rolling grooves, soulful vocals, deep basslines, and anything else that's good about house music.. you'll find it right here. Based in Colombia’s capital Bogotá, Felipe Gordon is a renaissance man. The producer, multi-instrumentalist, DJ and label head from Bogotá, Colombia is nothing short of a phenom, effortlessly fusing complex sound combinations from Jazz samples to flowing pianos and acid bass lines into hugely exciting and unique house records. It’s a sound which comes together perfectly to create tracks which have been moving waves worldwide over the last couple of years. Felipe has already released a string of hugely well regarded tracks and worked on remixes for some of the coolest labels out there including Toy Tonics, Local Talk, Shall Not Fade, Razor n' Tape and his own Nómada Records.

Elevate Mix 010 - Tilman

One of our favourite producers of 2022 steps up with an exclusive 64 minutes of almost entirely unreleased material. Parisian producer @tour-maubourg has released an remarkable body of work in the past couple of years that connects the dots between his city's deep house and nu jazz heritage (e.g. St-Germain, Wuz, Cassius) and the contemporary jazz scene, where sumptuous 4/4 grooves and broken beats are laced with sweet vintage and analog synth solos and motifs. We predict the biggest things for him and are very happy to have him contribute to our long-running series.

*How would you describe your sound?*

I’m trying to produce modern music, mainly house, jazz, and dub related with an old school and warm feel.

*What and who inspires you and influences your sound?* 

If I had to name three main influences it would be Ron Trent and Chez Damier, for their vision and reflection on pushing forward the sound.

Basic channel for their exploration of texture and ambience. Their sound has a unique feel.

Nicolas Jaar for his abilities to touch the masses with non pop music. His ability to make complexity simpler so that anyone can understand his music.

*Can you tell us a little about this mix and what it means to you?*

I was very happy that it was only made out of my production. As I have tons of music I stick that will probably not be released, it’s a good way to take it out of my hard drive and give it a second life 🙏
