'To Offer More Beauty' is a long-form mix I created to accompany my debut solo release, 'T.O.M.B.,' which is set to drop in the next few months alongside a bespoke fragrance and a zine with poetry, photos, and design. The mix aims to explore the threads between the tracks on the album, off-cuts that didn't fit the album, and tracks that inspired me during the recording process. I also wanted the mix to act as a soundtrack to Los Angeles, my adopted home—a 24hr ride through the city and its outskirts, from darkness to light and back again via the eerie menace and fascinating beauty evident throughout the city. Because of this, the mix doesn't succumb to one mood but rather a set of fleeting moments and feelings that seek to overwhelm, comfort, and transfix, much like the album it represents. Both the mix and the album almost entirely ignore club-based sounds, although, there are quite a few beats and rhythms to sink your teeth into. So there we have it: a new mix and an album announcement. De vuelta con ESPECTRO y esta vez traemos a Ron Like Hell. Acercándose a las sesiones de DJ como si fuera un ensamblaje, Ron Like Hell alinea el sonido con la emoción, enfocándose en las texturas para crear paisajes sonoros psicodélicos y espacios imaginativos que generen comodidad, sorprendiendo a los oyentes con la próxima transición ingeniosa e inesperada. Con más de 25 años a sus espaldas haciendo bailar a las personas en numerosas pistas del mundo y siendo un ávido comprador de discos, su papel en la escena es único e influyente. Como si fuera poco, es la mitad de WRECKED, una de las primeras fiestas queer norteamericanas que recientemente cumplió 10 años. 

Para esta sesión, quiso amplificar el trabajo creativo de productores que se identifican o apoyan el movimiento queer, inspirándose al mismo tiempo de diferentes sets que han sido anteriormente parte de la serie ESPECTRO. En resumen, mucho techno atrevido que termina en un sensual éxtasis de deep house.

It's been less than a year since audiovisual artist Surgeons Girl made her debut via Bristol's Livity Sound, but the impact of that release is still ringing loudly in our ears. 

Inspired by synth pioneers and experimental composers like Suzanne Ciani, Laurel Halo and Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, from her home in the South Western city she's been composing ethereal and emotive compositions that sit somewhere between ambient and techno. Since her first Livity Sound outing, she's contributed to their 10 year anniversary compilation, as well as releasing her sophomore EP 'The Empress Moss' for London's Inside Out Records just last month.

Now, with clubland back in full swing, Surgeons Girl has just made the leap from the studio to the booth, with her first DJ gig kicking off a string of sets across the UK. Before you catch her IRL, on today's mix she gives you a glimpse into the sonics that inspire her as both a DJ and producer.
