My opening set for Terrence Dixon & SHYBOI residency is out and it's a wild one, as usual! I cut it down a bit for posting to my favorite start point and to capture all the high moments. 

Enjoy babies! My nowadays debut was a magical time with beautiful artists. A very inspiring and indulgent night. It was one of the best crowds of dancers I’ve seen in a minute. Y’all were getting DOWN!

The lovely Jacana lads gave me their blessing to give away my lightly tribalised rework of their gorgeous single 'Twist Forever', featuring spoken word man-of-the-moment, Antony Szmierek. I jiggled their parts around, injected a little dembow snare vibe and some Reesey bass from a Moog Little Sub Phatty I was briefly in position of and took their delicate original onto the dancefloor.

Cull and pulled from the nefarious and elusive BILLY BREAKS SESSIONS cut in 2003 at the RED ROOM STUDIO, Denver. 

MAX (aka MAXKLAW aka DJ KLAW aka MAX NOMADIC) and BILL GOODWIN went into UZIEGO's RED ROOM to cut 4 sessions over a week of intensive focus and meditation on the opportunity to capture BILL at his absolute prime as a master. 

It's always permissible to produce any work. We didn't have any ambitions beyond recording many hours of breaks that no one else would ever have. Our own investment in the future and in cementing BILL's voice and sonically rhythmic voice. 

It cannot be understated in any manner that BILL has played with many legends. From his lifetime supporting brother-in-law PHIL WOOD and players GABOR GZABO, TITO PUENTE, TOM WAITS and countless players.

The myth of fame or success was shown to be a hard road very early in the journey. Bill  didn't mince words about the price he paid to play his whole damn life. 

This is what you are hearing the tiniest pieces of. The session encapsulates a larger statement by a man who knows only TIME. 

At it's very core. Drumming is an act of devotion to the universe through matching our hearts against the fabric of time and space with sounds. The annihilation of silence. The silence that help us since the cradle of man. That we seek with reckless devotion to continue putting our name on in a way that is in all ways MAGIC. 

This work is dedicated to the mighty unseen force that ties, binds and never divides us as we step into the light as one.
