Luke Million @ World Bar Feb 2014

A tribute to Giorgio Moroder and the late, great Donna Summer. 

"I feel love" is one of my absolute favourite tracks of all time. There are plenty of edits/remixes already out there, but I wanted to do something a little different and put a new spin on things. 

Only 4 bars of the original music containing the amazing Moog Modular synth bass line was used. The rest was built from scratch in my studio using a Korg MS-20, Roland SH2, Oberheim OB8, Solina String Machine and a Roland VP-330 Vocoder Plus. 

I locked myself away for days, learning and replaying the ever so tasteful parts created by Giorgio. After trying 3 different vocoders I settled on the VP-330 which was to become the vocal element of this edit. No one can ever replace the amazingness of Donna Summer... I just like vocoders. 

"I feel Giorgio's love" is the first in a monthly series of edits which will be hosted on Luke Million's Soundcloud.

After watching a live stream of JUNGLE's epic set at Coachella, I was reminded of how awesome their catalogue of music is and what great producers Josh Lloyd-Watson and Tom McFarland are! 

I was playing around with my Roland TR-909 Drum Machine in the studio and thought it could be fun to make a French House style remix of their classic - "All Of The Time" to be able to play in DJ sets.

I got a loop going, threw down some Moog Multimoog Synth Bass, added a dash of vocoder and plenty of my favourite synths to create a remix that is a free download for all my Bandcamp followers to enjoy.

Ou Est Les Swimming Pool - Dance The Way I FeeL (2015 Remixes) are out on Beatport February 23, 2015.

‘Dance The Way I Feel’ was a seminal Australian hit in 2010 notching a number 3 result in Triple J’s Hottest 100, English electronic outfit Ou Est Le Swimming Pool really struck a chord with Australia.

Five years on, the sentiment couldn’t be truer. Luke Million has gone into the studio and turned out a unique style which will push us to dance in 2015. Rest in peace Charles Haddon.

Following the release of his ‘Light & Sound’ EP in late 2014, synth maestro Luke Million and fellow Adelaidean Jesse Davidson pair up to deliver the moody electronic single ‘Fear The Night’.

After a string of remixes for Tkay Maidza, Porsches and Voltaire Twins, ‘Fear The Night’ came out of mutual admiration for one another’s work, and formed a collaboration which they both feel sits at the perfect middle ground between their respective profiles. Luke says "Fear The Night came together so seamlessly. I invited Jesse round to my studio to hang and listen to some music…he was drawn to one demo in particular and within minutes lyrics and melodies started to flow. Working together was awesome, and the finished track was a soundscape that meets somewhere in the middle of both our worlds."

Jesse has not been short of attention in his own right this past 12 months. Elevated by Triple J’s Unearthed High competition, a #97 result for his Japanese Wallpaper feature ‘Making Friends’, heavy rotation on his single ‘Laika’ and an amazing Like A Version performance in April 2015 of Childish Gambino’s ‘Sober’. 

‘Fear The Night’  comes at a time where both Luke and Jesse head to the northern hemisphere with dates through UK and the EU.

Can't believe we are half way through 2015 Mix

For my latest remake I have chosen Rock n Roll Part 2 by Gary Glitter, a song that we all are familiar with even though we may not know the name or who wrote it.

I recreated it from scratch using a Linndrum, Minimoog, Micromoog, Roland VP330, Clavinet and a Korg MS20. I also added an extra synth line on a Memory Moog at Moonlight Matters studio in Bruges whilst on my recent european tour.

Celebrating 40 years of electronic music exploration this year saw the re-release of three seminal works by Bernard Fevre (aka Black Devil),  'Suspense' (1975), 'Cosmos 2043' (1977) and the storied 'Disco Club' (1978). Completing this anniversary year Fevre now returns with three EPs featuring new remixes of his 1978 underground cosmic disco hit 'H Friend' from the likes of Andrew Weatherall, GoldFFinch, Turzi and many more.
 
The first EP (released 13 November) is aimed directly at the dancefloor with remixes from Berlin based duo Africaine 808, French Psychedelic Space Rocker Turzi), Sao Paulo’s DJ Tide, and last but not least world famous British Acid House DJ & producer Andrew Weatherall, who contributes the first of two remixes.
 
The second EP (released 27 November) makes more use of the re-recorded vocals by British singer Jo Apps and features remixes from Adelaide based Luke Million, Belgian Techno duo GoldFFinch, Anglo-French rising stars Loframes and the second of Andrew Weatherall’s remixes.
 
The final EP (released 11 December) is especially dedicated to Japan. 45 years after touring the country with his first band Francs Garçons, Bernard returned to Japan in 2015 for his first solo tour of Japan and was amazed by the music a new generation of artists were creating. Featuring remixes from Carpainter, Oorutaichi, Free Disco Permanent Midnight and Sparrows (the solo project of CRYSTAL’s Ryota Miyake), it’s a wildly eclectic set of remixes that perfectly finishes off this set.
 
A pioneering member of France’s electronic music scene in the 1970s, Fevre’s career entered a new phase in the early ‘00s when his ‘Disco Club’ album was rediscovered and reissued by Richard D. James (Aphex Twin) on his Rephlex label. Since then Fevre has gone on to be sampled by the likes of the Chemical Brothers   and released several new albums on Lo Recordings collaborating with artists such as Jon Spencer, Afrika Bambaataa, Nancy Sinatra, Faris Badwan (The Horrors), Mondkopf and Daniel Avery.
