My band's cover of 30 Second to Mars' "Kings and Queens", re-arranged to compete in the band competition on Padjadjaran University's Festival Olahraga dan Seni (Forsi) 2014. Feel free to give praise, criticism of suggestion for our cover or for our future arrangement. Enjoy & feel the jazzy-pop atmosphere in this cover!

n.b.: This one is the compulsory song that we must cover in order to meet the competition's requirements. Just like the other one, this cover makes us the 3rd winner of Forsi's Band Competition 2014! We would like to thank all of our friends, family and every inspiration out there! :D

Dewa - Kangen (My basic fingerstyle interpretation)

This is Syarekat Seni Faculteit des Recht's (SSFdR) answer for the challenge of Padjadjaran University's Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa / Executive Board of Law Faculty, to rearrange two Indonesian folk music with a more modern-ish feel throughout the song. 1 month deadline was given to us, so we decided to do some extensive work with the songs.

Descriptively speaking, we gave some Smooth Jazz feel in the Intro and then in the first section of the song, Yamko Rambe Yamko, we throw a standard Pop musical structure and then fused it with some Brazilian beats with an European feel (together with a little touch of Rock in the end).  In the second section of the song, Manuk Dadali, we throw some Indonesian famous musical genre called Keroncong fused with a little touch of Salsa to keep the audience excited with the flow of the song. In the Outro, we give you some syncopated play of Sundanese tunes to remind that this song is a masterwork of SSFdR who established in Bandung. #BandungJuara

Testing out my 'low cost' recording rigs thru this bluesy jam backing track.

The guitar are recorded thru Buffer circuit of a modded Ibanez WH10V2 wah pedal, going straight to Line 6 Spider III 15 'Crunch' preset. (I'm using my modded Strat for the guitar part; using neck-on switch in a bridge position + using a cheap Hot Rails knockoff at the bridge position)

The bass is almost the same; it goes from the bass to the Boss GEB-7 Bass EQ.

The drums? I got it from Youtube. (synchro-hell!)

All channel goes to Behringer UFO202 Audio card (?) into the free, open source recording application Audacity.
