From what spawned as an idea between two friends in a bedroom many moons ago has evolved into such an amazing family and a movement for the upcoming and emerging artists of Australia on the same wavelength. Our ‘Celebrating Five Years of Recovery Colective’ release features a group of artists that in one way or another have been a pivotal part of our journey over the past 5 years. Here we have given them the opportunity to hand pick one of their favourite records of all time and put together their own interpretation.

A culmination of music and art, friends and family, moments and memories, ambition and persistence, love and respect have all eventuated to where we are today - and we just want to say THANK-YOU for all the amazing times. Let’s roll.

Kalkara - Magic (Handsdown & Leigh Boy Remix)

The fifth release from Beaufort Beats marks the return of Prosdo. Having already made his debut on the label late last year with his Black Mamba EP, Decim808 boasts five tracks showcasing the Italian techno maestro’s versatility and musical prowess. The lead track on the EP bounces with a thick off beat bass and Prosdo’s own concoction of vocals and quirky FX, perfect for the club. Jack Duzza is next in line on the EP and is reminiscent of Prosdo’s past styles, yet demonstrating his current skills and production quality. Falling into the realm of minimal techno this driving track uses a rhythmical bassline to add pace and tension, and is named after a certain legend close to the Beaufort syndicate. Arpreciation is a blend of Prosdo’s ability to keep simple things interesting. One lead line sounds throughout the entire track and Prosdo uses modulation and his own drum sequencing techniques to keep the listener tuned in from start to finish. The remainder of the EP in 010010010 and Ah Sid, How So take a moment away from the party, still providing grooves to sway to, but written for the ear more than the dance floor.
