The work sonifies the geologic strata diagrams produced by petrochemical companies, producing a series of rich drones as the algorithm moves from surface dust to cambrian core.

Adapting its title from a work by Bruce Nauman, "My Name as Though It Were Spoken on the Surface of the Moon" plays lightly with the impossibility of sound in space, presenting a conceptual image of communication swallowed up by the aether.

The letters for sex chromosomes are spoken by a transgender male and further complicated by technology attempting to reverse his physical vocal transformation.

Found video and audio recordings of moments of silence, taking place at vigils , government assemblies, sports games, and private remembrances.

Using the clicks, gasps, bone and skin of the body, "Body Speaking" transforms these sound materials using new-media and studio techniques, simultaneously deconstructing the human form while asserting a confusing, unsettling physicality.

Luke Munn is a conceptual artist based in Berlin, using the body and code, objects and performances to activate relationships and responses.
