You're right, last year was exactly as you said. This year however, it was right back to the beauty, size and vibe of previous years gone by. It goes to show that the people in charge are also aware of the vibe and wanted to return things rather than let them get out of hand.

Für ihre Sets, die auch schon mal was länger dauern, bevorzugt sie draußen Floors unter dem freien Himmel, spielt aber auch gerne in Clubs wie dem Mensch Meier, und ist immer für nen guten Solirave zu haben.

Ihre Sammlung reicht von beatigen 80ern, über Disco, bis hin zu elektronischen Beatz und bringt sie an die skurrilsten und abenteuerlichsten Locations von linken Schuppen wie die Super Molly oder B-Lage, über den Karl Kutter Floor auf der Fusion, hin zur Spaceship Party im Meier, und auf’s Wasser...

Hey Burners,

this year was a tough one. A lot of people got sick.. less art but many big soundsystems and stages loaded with masculin energy. In my opinion most of them failed to really create a vibe, to bring in some love. The whole burn seemed like a proper full on rave. Why does it always need to be so big? Why so over-ambitious? Make it small, cosy, welcoming with a soul.. The music was very forward, bigroom, techno or trance heavy. Not so inspiring to me. I dont think ill be back in Tankwa anytime soon. So this is also a bit of goodbye music for all these wonderful souls that we’ve met onto this big journey that started here with a lighthouse over two years ago. Its a compilation of the tracks that i’ve played at my gigs this year, mostly the owl on friday and hauptbahnhof on tuesday.

Afrikaburn 2017 - Welcome Home Stranger

We are very happy to welcome @kallettiklub on @nuboheme. 
The two guys based in Hamburg bring us two original tracks that easily combine Tech House and traditional Klezmer music and will surely hit the Club dance floors from Berlin to Tel Aviv very soon. For their latest EP 'Hava Freilach' they collaborated with Maher Alkadi, who studied classical violin at the “High Institute of Music” in Damascus before he moved to Germany to escape the ongoing war in Syria. Together they show us how music can connect different cultures and countries in a very creative and remarkable way.
The EP includes two Remixes by @timboletti, who gives 'Tarras Freilach' his very own deep and mystic twist and labelhead @soundnomaden, who adds some extra offbeat drive and vintage feeling to 'Hava Nagila'.

Nummer 38 und Nummer 68 … ja warum nicht. A. aus der Nähe von M. macht einfach immer wieder so tolle Sets, das ich sofort zugestimmt habe, wie er meinte „ich würde gerne noch ein grooviges für deine Serie machen“. Naja und da die Serie ja eh so schön spontan ist … dacht ich mir wieso den nicht.

There is always a sign of hope or a positive aspect in an otherwise negative situation. In the past few months, when we were all apart, music brought us together like nothing else would in these circumstances. We decided to show our appreciation and continue this unity through our new podcast series called "The Bright Side".

@im-sander has been active in the Paris scene for years, with his crew @hordeparis and then through his own events named “Ayahuasca”. He successfully spread his highly emotional DJ sets all across the city, allowing the public to discover a new side of electronic music and a different vision for their surroundings. 

On this very special edition of the Bright Side, Sander creates a story that stirs powerful emotions and memories - an experience almost everybody can relate to, where you are transported back to a particular moment in time just like stepping into a time machine.
