This album, Vanishing Places, was written and recorded based on a series of field recordings I made in Bears Ears National Monument earlier this year.  The idea behind the project was to travel into wild places currently at risk, record the soundscape, then turn those field recordings into fully realized compositions back in the studio.  James Gadson played drums and Lars Horntveth contributed horns, woodwinds, and keyboards.  The cover artwork is by Larry Bell.  Produced by Luke Reynolds.  Mixed by Brad Bivens.  Mastered by John Baldwin.

Floating Upwards (No End In Sight)

Dream Sequence is the opening track off the forthcoming album No End In Sight, an instrumental collaboration between two adventurous multi-instrumentalists and producers — Luke Reynolds (Sharon Van Etten, The Staves) and Adrian Utley (Portishead).  After crossing paths thru mutual friend and producer John Congleton, the two discovered shared interests —  chance based music, field recordings and tape machines — that informed these compositions.  Working from their respective studios during the height of the pandemic, No End In Sight is the result.

Dream Sequence

Luke Reynolds is an artist, writer, and producer.

As a guitarist and multi-instrumentalist, he has worked with Sharon Van Etten, Adrian Utley, Regina Spektor, The Staves, Rick Rubin, Neko Case, Sarah Jarosz, Guster, Miranda Lambert,  and Phosphorescent.

He is a frequent collaborator with producer John Congleton and signed to Domino Publishing.

In 2010 he joined Guster, whose most recent album Look Alive was recorded with producers Leo Abrahams and John Congleton.

He is based in Vermont where he lives with his wife and daughter.
