I have been remastering cassette tape for my relatives and burn to CD it was a long process using pcm linear and audacity ( can’t afford expensive software) and Nero to burn back
 As time progress compression became a trend however I didn’t not use .mp3 due to licensing I use .wma . Many years past I rip cd by cd . Now with advance technology a simple trick to use Sony DSEE HX ( for wired pass through ) it is faster and easier to remaster back to near hi-fi . The emergence of Bluetooth LDAC , aptx HD listening to  better music wireless is a reality sadly most will say ‘ hear no difference ‘ that’s because your  phone and earphone may not match hi-fi res compatibility. Thus the mission
To make as good as hi-res while still compressing using my own style
