Xinobi is a part of a generation that grew up within the music-blog eruption fueled by Do-It-Yourself ethics. Together with his friends and work-partners Moullinex and Mr. Mitsuhirato he gave birth to the still-growing-in fl uent Discotexas. After releasing a few solid EP’s on Discotexas as well as Anjunadeep, Frau Blau, Do No Sit, MoBlack, Radiant and Ministry of Sound, he gained real recognition among more established and well-known artists and opinion-makers, as his underground cult ampli fi ed. Further helped by releasing remixes, edits, and reworks for artists such as Joris Voorn, O Terno, Crooked Colours, Moullinex, Luca Musto, Nicolas Jaar, Toro Y Moi, Agnes Obel, Kraak & Smaak, John Grant, Kris Menace and Riva Starr, it just proved Bruno Cardoso’s ability to re-arrange amazing music into a new universe

DAVID MAYER reveals his mindblowing remix of MAD RETREAT by CARLOS BARBERO & ILLINOIS. The original track was included on the 2-track EP "The Maze / Mad Retreat" as released on the Hive Audio imprint.

The Panamá based DJ/producer spent his teenage years developing his talent while submerged in his home studio and gaining experience on the dance floor. He enjoys mixing elements from groovy house, melodic techno and the Afro Caribbean roots of his own country to create a unique sound with deep bass lines and catchy melodies.

For "Mad Retreat" he teamed up with mesmerizing vocal talent ILLINOIS, an acclaimed artist on her own, to guide the fans of deep and dark grooves through realms of captivating melodies and pulsating rhythms. XYZ Selectors 116 - Imeïa

Over the summer season, I've been lucky to play and attend some great gigs, but unfortunately, I never recorded those mixes. I prefer to live in the moment and let the music breathe.

This two-hour mix aims to encapsulate some of the great moments I've had over the season into a retrospective listening experience that hopefully keeps you coming back.

My tastes in music have been changing recently to incorporate more worldly and Afro-influenced sounds, and this mix reflects the current mood of what I've been playing and what's getting me dancing!

I had a great time recording this for you, and I hope you enjoy listening to this different side of my musical catalogue.
