Wrapping up another considered year of timeless late night house music, the duo look back over every Darkroom chapter this year and present it as a whole story. Right now, we kick off with this three track sampler and it starts with something brand new…

Cannibal Ink and Rigopolar make their Darkroom debut with ‘A Thousand Years Before’, a track that sucks you straight into a hazy cosmic world with yearning faraway vocals and sudden textural flips. Pure alluring electronica; it nods to the days of Yoshitoshi and Morel, but pitched right down and beefed right up as today’s standards require.

It’s joined by more outstanding pieces of work: Eduardo De La Calle’s ‘Breatharian’ remains a major dancefloor incendiary device. A layered excursion into the deepest footnotes of musical hypnosis, it precision balances measured steadiness with the trippiest tendrils...

An intergalactic sensation that remains high right through to the final echo as the label bosses sign the sampler out with their immense remix of Dino Lenny’s ‘Chained To A Ladder’. Woozy is a so-called clubchild and is difficult and reluctant to be put into a drawer. First and foremost he is a fan of good music and sound design. Everything that has to do with audio attracts his attention. However, recognizable elements are always a pinch of funk and soul. For SLOWPUNCH he assembled a dreamy and melodic Downtempo EP to be enjoyed whilst looking at the sunrise or dancing under the sparkling disco ball at midnight. In the course of its production he pulled memories from a "damn good time" which, if you ask us, really shows in an impressive and meaningful way.

Woozy ist ein sogenanntes Clubkind und lässt sich nur schwer und ungern in eine Schublade stecken. In erster Linie ist er ein Fan von guter Musik und Sounddesign. Alles, was mit Audio zu tun hat, erregt seine Aufmerksamkeit. Wiedererkennbare Elemente sind jedoch immer eine Prise Funk und Soul. Für Slow Punch hat er eine melodiös-verträumte downtempo EP für den Sonnenaufgang auf dem Hangar oder die Mitternachtstunde unter der glitzernden Kugel geschraubt. Während der Produktion zerrte er dabei, wie er selber sagt, an den Erinnerungen an eine verdammt gute Zeit, die sich wenn ihr uns fragt, wirklich eindrucksvoll zeigt.

Torture the Artist celebrates its 5th anniversary with the release of 'fivefourtwentytwentyone', a compilation compiled and mixed by the webzine-founder himself, Holger Breuer, who gathered together 17 exclusive tracks from artists that either have a record or relationship with the online magazine. 'fivefourtwentytwentyone', a numerical and literal abreviation for '5 for TTA', musically varies between Deep House and Disco, it makes an excursion to melodic and more techno-ish takes, it contains edits of current Indie/ Alternative but also Pop-artists and provides its audience with unreleased material from and of scene-heavyweights. The result is an eclectic mix that delivers several approaches to (electronic) music carefully and skillfully put together in a continuous mix that represents Torture the Artist's philosophy, namely that of offering various (mainly melodical) styles of music to its listeners from renowned as well as talented and uprising artists.

'fivefourtwentytwentyone' is released in four parts containing four tracks while each track is available as a free download exclusively via Torture the Artist' Soundcloud-channel. The download-link for the 17th and last track, is unlocked to those who solve a riddle as each of the previously released parts will provide you with a hint.

including Remixes by DJ Counselling and Tigerskin. Whereas the title
track VESPRO comes with the typical driving and melodic Lemmon Sound, the second track TUINBOUW evolves Housey synth keys, smooth melodies and tuneful beats.

DJ COUNSELLING gives you the chance to lose yourself in a dreamy
journey of thick, smooth, and velvety beats on the ‚Tuinbouw‘ remix.
The melodies take a back seat with the Berlin producer TIGERSKIN, but
sparks a discobass with a soft otherworldly jungle panorama.

Lucas Buchta and Gary Pilz have been profound producers for a good chunk of the last decade. Throughout the years, their individual forces intertwined into a germafrican vision. Combining Luc's love for a detailed sound and Gary's exceptional sound design, their project "LADS" was born. The German and South African duo has seen their first releases dropped in 2017, including a debut remix on Nie Wieder Schlafen that climbed up various Spotify playlists and marked the start of continuous collaboration between the label and artists. Three years later, the team returns for an ambitious original release, pressed on black gold.

The 5-tracker EP "Bamboo" explores a broad array of sounds, from the orientalic "Cedar", including Gary's own beautiful vocals to the textured "Tin Pan Alley", including a special piano recording from Luc. Ambient atmospheres and funky house vibes with "EDL" and main title track "Bamboo" deliver the front and backend of the release, offering a diverse palette with various energy levels. The digital release includes the exclusive "Eis", which is ironically melting dancefloors with a powerful dance base, fueled with emotive strings and atmospheres. The EP underlines the duo's incredible talent and showcases the potential of their capabilities. A next step for their project, also available on black gold.

"Bamboo" also marks our second Vinyl pressing and we are incredibly excited to be able to deliver another physical release. An enthusiastic next step, that further strengthens the bond between the artists and the label. We couldn't be happier to finally deliver the results, the team has worked on.
