2014 stands as a defining moment for the RAM Records imprint. Not only did it announce the pivotal signing of artists like Audio, Teddy Killerz and Bensley but they also oversaw the birth of compilation series RAMLife hosted by Loadstar. Even in its first form, it contained nearly every essential release the last twelve months had to offer. 

But this year, RAMLife is taking you into deeper and murkier dimensions. Having already flexed his production muscle on the ricocheting, four-track ‘Nil by Mouth’ EP, as well as his first visual debut in the music video for ‘Heads Up’, it’s now time for Audio to cut open and expose his musical psyche. 

Including some of the most aggressive, technically adept and prominent artists the genre has to offer, including Bad Company, Optiv & BTK and Noisia to name a few, no stone goes unturned for the album’s entirety. Audio also throws bass-fuelled bullets in the form of exclusives, with explosive VIPs that have yet to be released. 

The brand new cut ‘Foodchain’ from Audio sets a theme which is prevalent throughout all 27 tracks. Uncompromising yet diligently crafted, it leads you into a freight train of musicality which holds you hostage from start to finish. Zipping through to the mechanical composition of Mefjus’ ‘Brainwork’, all the way back to Spor’s heavy-hitting ‘Bullet Time’ remix; this is a no holds barred exploration of the genre’s darker side.  

But what can you expect from the man who garners such an explosive reputation across the club circuit? Audio brings his live personality into the whole album and accompanying mix; one that doesn't let you pause for breath. They're a collection of tracks that'll leave an atomic bomb sized impression inside the community, which further solidifies his reputation as an ever- growing, unstoppable goliath.

Following up the launch of RAM Records new RAMlife compilation series last year (which saw Loadstar offer up a platter of essential tracks), head honcho Andy C has tapped the man of the moment, Audio, for the second edition. 

Ordering an all-out assault on our eardrums, Audio collects 27 tracks from the likes of Optiv & BTK, DC Breaks, Ulterior Motive, Noisia, Bad Company, June Miller, Mejus and more, binding them together with the vicious RAM attitude that has helped the label dominate drum & bass. Having survived the treacherous path that now lay behind them, a group of ardent adventurers found themselves before the gates of a great temple, shrouded in mists atop the highest peak in their land. From within rang out a titanic voice that shook the earth with its every word, permeating the very souls of those who stood before the gate. “Hear me, supplicants to this temple” rang its initial call, “Know that you tread upon the grounds of Snake Monastery, and that you shall face many tests and trials should you seek to proceed in whatever quest hath brought you here. You now face the LAVA RUN, and should you hope to continue you must prove your worth.” These words the voice left to echo throughout the mountain peaks as the adventurers set to the task before with utmost resolve. Utilizing every ounce of their combined might, they heaved open the doors to the great temple, which shuddered open to reveal a most terrifying sight. Approaching unstoppably towards them was a boulder of titanic size, seemingly unseated from its pedestal by the gate’s monumental motion. With practiced synchronicity the adventurers sprang into action, preparing to meet the boulder head on in the midst of its fast approaching onslaught. Yet, at the last moment before their inevitable collision, one amongst the adventurers raised a single fist and struck with all of their might at the boulder’s core. With nary a second remaining before it would have crushed the party beneath its incomprehensible mass, the boulder was reduced to naught but dust, and the path forwards through the temple lay open. “It seems you are indeed of the strength to continue,” came the voice from within “but brawn alone will not grant you admittance to the Snake Monastery’s inner sanctum. Continue further, if you are truly worthy, and face the next trial!”

GYDRA return to EATBRAIN with their latest single, LAVA RUN. Following a dearth of releases across labels such as Bad Taste Recordings, C4C Recordings, EATBRAIN, and their own label Neuropunk Recordings, GYDRA’s latest single sees the duo displaying the raw force of their sonic capabilities at maximum capacity as they seek to discover who amongst the EATBRAIN horde is strong enough to complete this trial and those yet to come.
