LUMA is an Iraqi-British DJ from South East London, with her sounds influenced by her Arabic heritage and urban London roots. LUMA’s global music is always club-orientated, with a selection of rhythmic and percussive sounds. LUMA always maintains an emphasis on uplifting womxn and non-binary artists and those from black and minority ethnic backgrounds through her music.

LUMA has a residencies on Balamii with the Habibti Nation show as well as AAJA Music; showcasing underground electronic music from the Middle East and North Africa with a focus on femxle and non-binary artists.

Berlin-based Acidfinky joined LUMA on guest mix duties for this months instalment of Habibti Nation, with a mix of tracks by producers from the Maghreb & the Middle East. In the first hour, LUMA ran experimental sounds by female producers from Egypt & Lebanon.

LUMA was live with Yas Meen Selectress for the August instalment of Habibti Nation. In the first hour, LUMA runs through soulful Arabic pop and RnB from Sudan, Yemen and Palestine. In the second Egyptian DJ and producer Yas Meen Selectress runs through some funk and electro from Egypt, Sudan and Algeria.
