Lumachron consists of Louis Marlon and Xavier van Wersch, who combine their individual musical roots of new wave,  synthpop and experimental electronica in an ecclectic mix of thumping electro beats, arpeggiated analog synths, silky strings, melancholic melodies and crunchy noises. Disillusion in "high art" and the unability to enjoy the shallow leisures of mass culture, amplified by a general sense of misanthropy, ignited their desire to go back to basics and start over again from simple song structures with melodies and lyrics. Songs to be danced to, to be touched by or simply listened to. Music to cleanse the soul, to -at least temporarily- provide relief from the brutal dishonesty and false fabric of reality that humanity has trapped itself in.

Having been described as "very deep electro", the result of their efforts is dance music with a message, fit for both body and brain. Vocoded voices speaking of despair, lost paradise and escape from the drag of daily life. Sinister and sexy, nostalgic yet uplifting, the duo delivers an energetic performance that explores pop- and underground culture of past decades, borrowing from and referring to different styles and genres without ever really fitting in in any of them.

Louis Marlon van den Brink (Utrecht 1977) familiarized himself with painting, ceramics, mixed media, 3D objects and video during his studies at Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht and the Gerrit Rietveld Academy. Along the way he developed a desire to focus on performance art, music and technology. As a result he switched to Interfaculty ArtScience (previously Image & Sound), where he graduated in 2008. From a large knowledge and interest in the creative industries he performed as a DJ, VJ, musician and performance artist in both solo acts as ensembles at a variety of festivals such as State X, Project Mayhem, Gaudeamus, Courtisan, Transmission, EX-IS, Ground 2, Goebbels, de KunstTour and diverse projects at TodaysArt Festival including the spectacular performance Structet: Building Music.

Xavier van Wersch (Nijmegen 1976) was raised with classical piano and violin training, which set the foundations for his experiments with composition and electronic music as a young teenager. At first spurning the conservative music academy for the freedom of visual arts, Van Wersch was eventually drawn back to study Sonology at The Hague’s Royal Conservatory after discovering abstract electronic music. His final exam composition, Odysseia, was included on the 2001 compilation His Master's Noise - The Institute Of Sonology, released on Dutch experimental label BVHaast Records. This compilation gathered pieces from artists who had worked or studied at the Institute for Sonology, including Iannis Xenakis, Edgard Varése and György Ligeti. Van Wersch has presented work at many festivals and venues througout the world, including Unsound New York, Communikey, ElektroMechanika, TodaysArt, Dis-Patch, State X New Forms, Sonic Acts, Garage-g and many more.
