Wah Together send a “love letter to people who suffer from depression and frustration and those around them” on January 25, 2022 with “You Got the Blues,” the second single and music video from the upcoming LP, Let’s Wah Together.

“You Got the Blues” shakes it off with a revolving kosmische groove that distills the best parts of the Velvet Underground’s White Light/White Heat and Jim O’ Roukre-era Sonic Youth into a wound-up post-punk tour dé force tearing itself apart at the seams. Before the last stitch is pulled, you could knit a sweater from the threads of loneliness and isolation woven into this cathartic kraut-noise-rock yawp. 

“You Got the Blues” hits DSPs on January 25, 2022.

Hector Gachan is back to the Nice Guys family with his sophomore album Care 2 Share. The first introduction to this exciting release is ’Asking For A Friend’. The Bosnian singer now living in Edinburgh mentions the struggles of loneliness and homesickness under the cover of pop-like synths, and a catchy rhythm that turns sorrow in a sweet and sour dream. Naarm/Melbourne 4-piece screensaver is back with a double A-side 7-inch single just 6-months after delivering their 10-track debut album Expressions of Interest on Upset the Rhythm to positive international response. See praise for the record on Maximum Rock ‘n’ Roll, KEXP, and Post Trash. The album has also been a regular feature on Henry Rollin’s KCRW Santa Monica radio show.

The band return with two distinctly different tracks that extend upon the blend of post-punk, new wave and synth-punk on their debut. Side A, Clean Current is a burst of high-energy: nervy guitars and groovy base underpinned with krautrock drums and cosmic synth noise, overlayed with delay heavy vocals. Repeats is the flipside of the coin, a moody post-punk stomper, led by gritty saw tooth synth, chorus-soaked guitar, textural percussion and soaring vocals. Lyrically Clean Current spits out retorts aimed at the engulfing nature of anxiety whilst Repeats critiques the repetition of modern life, languishing human existence.
Clean Current nods it’s head to likes of Snapper and 80s Flying Nun bands whilst Repeats owes it origins more to the progenitors of goth-rock.
