I took liberties with the instructions for this week's project.  This might not technically be a drone or is it necessarily "loopable" so I almost didn't submit it.  However the idea behind the piece I think is an interesting interpretation of the idea of "as slowly as possible".  Let me explain - In seeing the instructions I though about what it meant to slow something down and I considered the pitches of the notes of the chord and the frequencies of the notes themselves.  What if the frequencies of the notes themselves were slowed, divided by 2 (lowering the pitch by an octave) multiple times until the frequency would be perceived as a rhythm rather than a pitch?  So for example I took C3 - 131 hz (I rounded up from 130.81hz for simplicity's sake...) and multiplied it times 60 to get the cycles per minute =7860 then I started dividing it in half to get down to some number of beats per minute - for example 7.86 (7860 halved 10 times. Doing this for all the notes in the chord but keeping the ratios between them gives a wonky asynchronous rhythm that I used as the basis for the composition.  Of course the notes playing these rhythms correspond to their parent not from the chord so there is a C3 playing on 7.8 times per minute for example.  I created 3 Groups of the chord and one is playing Frequency divided by 10, another F/9 and another F/8.  I took liberties with the octaves in the end as I had already used a "C-7" as one of the rhythms... :-)so I figured as C2 might be acceptable as well.  Finally I incorporated the use of the number 3 and multiples as there are 6 pitches and the ultimate slow version being played in Germany for 639 years.  I chose 30 bpm as my tempo and each of the notes being played happen only in multiples of 3 - 3 times, 12 times, 54 times etc over the course of the 3 minute piece.  All of this was created using Soniccouture's "Balinese Gamelan 2" library plus one Patch from U-He's Hive instrument playing the chord proper.  Ok that was a long winded explanation.  Hope you enjoyed the piece.
