The Samburu are a Nilotic people of north-central Kenya. They are a sub tribe of the Maasai. The Samburu are semi-nomadic pastoralists who herd mainly cattle but also keep sheep, goats and camels. The name they use for themselves is Lokop or Loikop, a term which may have a variety of meanings which Samburu themselves do not agree on. Many assert that it refers to them as "owners of the land" ("lo" refers to ownership, "nkop" is land) though others present a very different interpretation of the term. The Samburu speak the Samburu dialect of the Maa language, which is a Nilo-Saharan language.

Born in the dark streets of Cairo, grown to the unforgettable forests of Santa Esmeralda, spending its teen years in Bombay and Tangier markets, mature into the deep spacey Jungle of Ghana we proudly present you a new label from the land of the pyramids: SHANGO RECORDS invites you to an unheard world music psychedelic trip: like through a colorful kaleidoscope we will melt down Indian and Pakistani Vibes, Arab-Tek and Oriental groovy vibes, Afro-Beat rhythms n' pieces, Cumbia Tropicana flavors and cosmic Ghetto-Latin vibes into forbidden sounds of frenzied electronic dancefloor rituals. Outside traditional paths these driving grooves and polyphonic structures take the adventure seeking dancer to Dionysian highs and places never been before.

This is the first, and probably not the last, of the Fairy Of The Lake of many colours. First there was the Blue Fairy, then, people, you asked for more, and we made up the Red Fairy, and, when you wanted more still, the White Fairy was put together. The tracks in the compilation are borrowed from many countries, some are British, some German, some Greek, some Spanish, some French, some Brasilian, one Italian. However much these nations differ about trifles, they all agree in liking fairy tales. The reason, no doubt, is that men were much like children in their minds long ago, long, long ago, and so before they took to writing newspapers, and sermons, and novels, and long poems, they told each other stories, such as you read in the fairy books. They believed that witches could turn people into beasts, that beasts could speak, that magic rings could make their owners invisible, and all the other wonders in the stories. Then, as the world became grown-up, the fairy tales which were not written down would have been quite forgotten but that the old grannies remembered them, and told them to the little grandchildren: and when they, in their turn, became grannies, they remembered them, and told them also. So the new SHANGO RECORDS compilation is entitled “Fairy Of The Lake” and includes eighteen amazing tracks for your personal book of tales.  Songs about love, hate, broken dreams, suffocation and holding hands. For the dreamers, the shakers, the moochers and the makers; we are all born of civilised madness, so let's go with the flow!

Cheekha Dar, meaning Black Tent, is the Kurdish name given to the highest mountain on the Iraqi/Iranian border. Its peak sits majestically in an area known for shaping the Earth's stories. The tracks on this EP combine sounds from this region, as well as Asia, delivering 2 versions of the title track for day time and night time adventures. The Day version is a sensual flow, perfect for your sunset. The Night version is not only faster but has intense violin parts, working great to light up the dance floor, as it has been tested since last years festival season. The track 'Be My Baby' is an emotional story using woodwind, guitar and vocal elements. Let the music speak for itself.

According to the Shatapatha Brahmana, the Audumbara tree was created from the force of Indra, the leader of the gods that came out of his flesh when he overindulged in soma: From his hair his thought flowed, and became millet; from his skin his honor flowed, and became the aśvattha tree (ficus religiosa); from his flesh his force flowed, and became the udumbara tree (ficus glomerata); from his bones his sweet drink flowed, and became the nyagrodha tree (ficus indica); from his marrow his drink, the Soma juice, flowed, and became rice: in this way his energies, or vital powers, went from him. The tree has been worshipped as Abode under which Lord Dattatreya teaches that to teach first you’ve to learn from others however small or big. There is always something to be learnt from One and to learn new things one has to learn to unlearn as per the time. T-Puse and Noble Spirits are travelers of the most precious dreams.
