The tracks form a bond between each other, that really enhances the listening experience, when going through them at once and in the order they were selected in.

About the EP :
Sometimes, you have a sparking idea, a thought which takes shape within seconds. This is exactly what happened when I received a demo by Patlac in spring 2017. The year before, we had signed the lovely „Random Walks“ for our summer compilation „BBQ Techno 6“, so we were already in touch, but what we received from him this time was different, advanced and something we could not resist. A selection of
titles, all of them as though they had been made to stay together and a blueprint for our Livingroom Techno sound idea. It was clear for me right from the start, that the next Livingroom Techno would not be a compilation, but an album, our first Livingroom Techno album.

Over the past months, we have refned the idea and more titles were added to get what we have today: „Blinded“ - probably the most homogenous album we have ever released.

„Blinded“ is a love letter, describing the feeling of Patlac’s hometown, the city of Hamburg, or better said the metro line U3, Hamburg’s oldest city line and the train which takes Patlac to his studio every day. The ringline with a gap, which goes overground most of the time and passes impressive scenarios including the Landungsbrücken, Elbphilharmonie or the green area of Winterhude had a huge infuence on the tracks and set the mood Patlac wanted to create with this album.

On the way to his studio and back, Patlac listened to the resulting tracks and loops via his phone over and over again. It was his musical companion while looking out the window, watching the city go by, analysing the changing light situation from winter to summer, from day to night, cut off only by the blinding refections of the passing silver metallic trains or the city lights, forcing him to gently close his eyes, creating an almost meditative moment. All of this melted together to become „Blinded“ - a journey, discovering deep and sophisticated corners between the poles of house, techno and electro. Music to dance to or simply to listen to, it is relaxed and moving at the same time. A true Livingroom Techno release...

Hamburg-based photographer Katja Ruge sets the mood with her contributed beautiful artwork photo, showing her blurred and colourful interpretation of „Blinded“.

'Althoff is the name behind Plano B Records’s new release. The artist brings an authentic atmosphere with his consistent sonic signature. 'Warung is Brazil’s leading underground label and now they turn their attention to remixes of some big tunes from a previous Blond:ish release. Bloom, Leo Janeiro, Boghosian and Santiago Garcia all step up and show off their skills to make for a standout EP. 

Bloom goes first and flips Mountains Of The Mind into a deep, moody house track that sucks you in with spooky chords and a suspenseful atmosphere. Santiago Garcia then flips the same track into a slightly busier number with synthetic melodies and lingering chords all making it a colourful but late night cut that is subtle and alluring. 

Leo Janeiro then makes Mouth into a deep house roller with fluttering hand drums, distant groans and a minimal groove that always evolves and keeps you locked. It grows more forceful later on with big hi hats and will get the floor moving in style. Last of all, Boghosian gets freaky with a wonky house track that has off kilter keys and chords over the top of his rubbery drums. It’s intimate house music for those who like their mind to be as busy as their feet.'

Gentle piano chords play out beneath a filter as atmospheric FX and delayed chords build the vibe around them. Insistent yet restrained bass tones drop in to provide more backbone to the succinct percussion, the dizzying vocal FX continuing to swirl away in the background as plucked instrumentation sends your mind to distant lands. 

Given how well they work together on this resplendent track, we’re convinced you’ll be hearing from this trio again.'

'Focused towards house and deep techno, Whistleblower is a label founded by three music producing friends; Alan Fitzpatrick, Reset Robot plus Rhymos, and this new release is a three track EP from a mysterious artist going by the name Somnium.

So far, Whistleblower has featured mainly tracks from the label owners themselves and was the original outlet for Alan Fitzpatrick and Reset Robot’s collaborative alias Customer before their EP’s on Mobilee Records.

Simon Baker has to date been the only artist outside of the labels owners to release original material on Whistleblower, and out of the labels eighteen releases, Somnium joins him as the second member of whistleblowers extended family.

Kicking things off is “Young Giants” and its eloquent melody leads into a dark and twisted bassline as the track transforms its mood from uplifting to sinister. With throbbing tension, the grinding low end frequencies give the track an ominous presence sure to set the dance floor alight.

Track two “Seraphim” is melodic cut with intricate synths layered between stripped back percussion. Almost orchestral, the track’s vibe has an uplifting trajectory that lifts like a bird on take-off before soaring high above trees. Delicate and exuberant, this highly emotive piece of house music is brimming with personality.

Finishing the EP is the shimmering sound of “Chiron” and its interstellar synth pads that have combined to create a cosmic soundscape of texture. Vast and spacious like the expanse of space, the track’s clean cut production has a steady momentum and truly captivating mood.'

For our 19th release, we have the pleasure of welcoming into our WOOD, the rising DJs and producers "EKDK". The Spanish project delivered us two original tracks "Santeria" and "Aquelarre" deeply characterised by a rounded melodic touch, atmospheres, indistinguishable grooves and true emotion. A sweet mix between hope and other immense happiness. To close the EP, we have on board three outstanding producers and DJ’s each bringing their own magic. Premiere: EKDK - Santeria [Wood]

'New on Davide Squillace's label This And That Lab is the second in the series of their mixed artist release “Spring Summer Fall Winter”, and this is part "A” of the latest edition that features original tracks from Davide Squillace, Anja Schneider, Lancaster, Nandu, SB-Unit and Francesco Mami.

Planning to release one for each season of the year, every edition is split into two volumes titled “SSFW # 2A” and “SSFW # 2B” with a focus on textures both audible and visual, and each release will be a combination of fresh talents with veteran artists.

Label boss Davide Squillace who is fresh from his recent album on Crosstown Rebels, opens the EP with a collaborative track made with Lancaster whose back catalogue features music on imprints including Saved Records and Get Physical.

Second of the tracks comes from Mobilee Records boss Anja Schneider who along with tracks on her own label, has contributed to other outlets such as Knee Deep In Sound and Moon Harbour. Many also know her as a radio show host and headline DJ playing many of the world’s top clubs and festivals.

The third track is from Nandu whose distinctive production style has been a regular feature of This And That Lab along with other labels including Constant Circles, Stil Vor Talent, Kindisch and Rebirth.

Closing off SSFW # 2A is a track from SB-Unit and Francesco Mami who have previously joined forces for a release on Sunclock. Francesco Mami is also a solo producer boasting a back catalogue that features labels such as Dantze, Lauter Unfug, Rhythm Cult and LIKE.

Davide Squillace and Lancaster’s track titled "Rockin'" has a deep and tribal sound that leads nicely into Anja Schneider’s “Touch”, which keeps the percussive flow but also adds eloquent dreamy synth melodies to lift the mood. Nandu’s cut of quirky house “Cosmic Agenda” has his trademark shuffling grooves with a stripped back sound and subtle dub techno influence. SB-Unit and Francesco Mami’s “Atoll” has a synth lead melodic groove with Balearic elements that are the perfect way to close off the first half of the release.'

Deep, deeper and deeper into the organic and timeless soulful meanders of house music. With this release, Depth hosts the talented, waves-making and charismatic Italian duo Armonica accustomed to supports by the likes of Dixon, Ame, Solomun, Black Coffee and Andhim.

Another type of absolute wizardry with Karlsruhe based musician Fred und Luna and fellow UFO Hawaii's outstanding interpretation, leading us to elektrokrauty and nadaphysical dimensions without losing the substance of Armonica's original statement. 

Two radically different personal insights ans two encounters under the sign of perfect alchemy.

'As Connected arrives at its 3rd year of existence, the team have decided to put together a compilation of tracks old and new that showcases its musical diversity.

On this sampler are brand new remixes from Olaf Stuut, Tim Engelhardt, Stefano Ritteri, Reboot and Moscoman, and they will be released on vinyl alongside a brand new track from label heads Stereo MC’s, plus the first appearance on vinyl of classic connected release ‘Lust’ by Tigerskin K.E.E.N.E and Elli (David Mayer Remix). The full compilation, meanwhile, features catalogue cuts by David Mayer, Re.You, Nandu, Florian Busse, Aaaron, Floyd Lavine and Pôngo amongst others.

Frank Heinrich aka Reboot delivers a remix in typical and well-known manner. Groove, groove and again groove, a lot of love for drum arrangements, plus a bit of weird modulation on the vocal make up this great remix. This piece doesn't have a loud eccentric nature but grabs your attention over time and is not going to leave you until it's over.

This vital contemporary label has been building steam over the last few years with increasing vigour, and this release follows their ethic of offering a diverse and underground mix of tracks that offer plenty of club action.'
