Harmonious Lines (Feat. Cesareo)

My new song and video "Walking Away" are about starting anew after being in a toxic relationship for far too long. In the video, my shedding of layers of clothes signifies jettisoning the baggage accumulated from years of abuse and emotional pain. I filmed this video in Kyiv under martial law while I was there filming a documentary about Ukrainian resistance and resilience.  We had to do takes between air raid sirens and drone attacks. Some might say that the song has a broader meaning when seen from the context of Ukraine leaving an abusive relationship.  The music was recorded in the studio with a live pianist and string quartet in order to portray the intimacy, realism, and importance of the music and lyrics.  Please like, comment and share.

si8hmosis is the Abenaki word for "Little Hawk", the name given to me at birth by my mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. I am the Hawk, my brother is the m8lsem, the Wolf, my cousin the Tolba, the turtle. 

We are of the Abenaki of Odanak. 

Today our reservations are Odanak and W8linak, they are in Canada and have a population between the two of about 700. Throughout New England and into Canada we have about 3,000 band members.

To those who feel the pain of being indigenous and the trauma that's come from colonization, please know you are not alone in this pain. There are many more out there who feel this and wish to find healing for our ancestors and to be the step forward that heals the pain our grandparents inherited and passed down to us. This EP is my step towards that. These are my personal issues and emotions released through music, with honor given to our heritage. In hopes to continue to build my platform so that I can share my stories, my families stories, the Abenaki stories, and to raise awareness about who we are and to shout that we are still here!
