He had once imagined himself as a king, sitting on a grand throne, commanding the world with his will. The dream of control, of mastery over every aspect of his life, had consumed him for years. But one day, after countless failures and empty victories, he realized the weight of his imagined throne. It was heavy, uncomfortable, and not his to bear.

In that moment, he stepped down. He let go of the need to control everything around him and, instead, humbled himself before the vastness of life. He sat quietly, no longer demanding, but listening. Slowly, the chaos of his life began to settle, like dust finding its place after a storm.

He saw then that the Divine had always been at work—guiding, shaping, without need for his interference. It was not his throne to sit upon, but rather, his place to follow. And so, he let the Divine take its course, trusting in the wisdom of unseen hands.

In surrendering the throne, he found peace. The world no longer felt like a burden. Instead, it was a dance, with him as a humble participant.

Lunar Voyage One Mix

Olivier Fraikin, performing under the alias @soelaas is a Belgian electronic music producer and performer known for blending synthesized melodies with found sounds to create a distinctive style of melodic, ethereal techno. His music is designed to offer solace and comfort, helping listeners navigate life's challenges. The name Soelaas, which means "solace" in Dutch, reflects his mission to provide emotional relief and connection through his art.

Born on September 22, 1990, in Heusden-Zolder, Belgium, Olivier’s musical journey began with a strong connection to rhythm and texture. He explored traditional instruments like the djembe and didgeridoo from a young age, which shaped his understanding of organic sound and percussive dynamics. At 17, he started DJing under the name Duif-inc and later transitioned to producing music using Ableton, Maschine, and synthesizers. Drawing inspiration from artists like Daft Punk, Stephan Bodzin, Extrawelt, and Goa music, Soelaas developed a sound that blends organic rhythms with futuristic, atmospheric elements. His background in beatboxing also plays a key role in his music, providing a unique percussive layer that ties together the organic and synthetic components of his compositions.

Beyond music, Olivier is passionate about abstract painting, finding that his creativity flows naturally across both mediums. Just as his music explores complex textures and emotions, his paintings reflect a similar depth and abstraction, offering another means of emotional expression. Soelaas' music, with its evolving soundscapes and intricate basslines, evokes both introspection and energy, making it equally suitable for personal listening or a club environment.

Soelaas’ music creates a safe space for listeners to reflect, heal, and find clarity amid life's struggles. His tracks combine lush melodies, atmospheric pads, and found sounds—like recordings of nature, urban life, and everyday objects—adding depth and an earthy, human element to his work. Having established himself as a rising voice in the melodic techno scene, Soelaas’ music continues to gain recognition. His EP Awake (2024) released on Threerecords was well-received for its atmospheric textures and driving rhythms, and he was featured on the Dit Klingt Jut talent album released in December 2024. Soelaas’ upcoming album Salvus ab inferis (2025) and EP Essence on Inner symphony promise to delve deeper into emotional expression, continuing his mission of offering solace and comfort through his sound. He is also preparing new projects with Be Adult Music , always pushing the boundaries of his craft while deepening his connection with listeners.
