Théo Muller has played a key role in the French electronic scene for the past decade as a co-founder of the Midi Deux parties and label in Bretagne, a former resident DJ and curator at La Machine du Moulin Rouge in Paris, the label manager of Krakzh or more recently as the line-up curator of La Ferme de Quincé (a farm and cultural venue in Rennes).

Putting his Breton origins at the forefront of his work, the talented DJ also established himself as a sharp producer in 2018 on the Concrete label with an EP hailed by Laurent Garnier, Chloé and Move D. He also contributed on Lumière Noire, Vastechoses, Worst Records, Eddy Larkin, Grid, Rutilance, Dôme from Astropolis and on his imprint: Krakzh.

That’s where he released in 2020 his first album “Gouzanv Pe Unanin” including featurings with Antoine from Positive Education and Swiss artist NVST. His journey with NVST began here, they later developed a strong spiritual connection that led to the release of their upcoming LP in March 2023 on Pensaments Sonics, subdivision of Hivern Discs.

In the meantime, he started a French electro punk band with two friends called “Dalle Béton” that will be on tour this summer and which was an undeniable highlight of the 2022 Transmusicales festival.

Able to play at any time and for hours, he has his own way of captivating the crowds though sets compiled of dub, techno and rock. From friendly raves in Bretagne to Dimensions or Montreux Jazz Festival, he knows how to have a special time with the dancers.

Alex Albrecht https://soundcloud.com/melquiadesmusic has refined his unique triangulation of ambient, house, and instrumental influences over the years, either as one-half of Albrecht La’Brooy (Apollo) or under his Melquíades alias (Analogue Attic). Combining rich field recordings and hypnotic instrumentation, Alex’s productions are often recognizable thanks to this instantly warm and welcoming combination. Percussive elements and powerful drum patterns sit amongst perfectly executed melodies and dusky atmospheres; Alex’s music is just as suited for the orange hues of dawn as the purple tints of sundown.

A notably shorter album than we may hope, but sequenced as one complete listen, Alex is purposeful and precise in his approach, with every element completely additive to the last. Violet Visionary echoes a moment of organic evolution that disappears as quickly as it came into existence; peaking to a glowing embrace that will undoubtedly leave an impression.

Last month, WOEIFM invited me to play for their monthly show on @operator.radio. I took the opportunity to create a New Beat special because, as a New Beat lover, I've always wanted to do that! 

Belgian New Beat, often just called New Beat, was an underground subculture and music scene that thrived in Belgium during the 1980s and 1990s. It was especially prominent in Antwerp and Brussels, and eventually gained widespread popularity across Western Europe.


I also added some interview snippets from back in the day.

MDC.244 Citizen Maze

R-A-G is MOS boss Aroy Dee in partnership with Marco Spaventi and G String. Together they make frayed and analogue house music that joins the dots between 80s Chicago and the modern day. This new EP does just that once more, opening with the dense sci-fi stomper that is Vacuum. With coarse synths and plenty of sonic scuzz it fires your every synapse.

On the flip side, Plenum (Outer Mix) is a beat less ambient affair with lost synths ringing out in vast chambers of fine grain sound, before the Inner Mix slowly courses on raw kick drums. Whole ecosystems of synths spiral around like galaxies in the distance to make for truly filmic deep house listening.
