Artist: LUNAR

After experiencing the underground Techno scene in Barcelona,
Venezuelan engineer Alfredo Lunar decided
follow his passion for music, consolidating little
little by little his career as an artist by playing in various
clubs and bars in the city, such as The Garage
of the Bass Valley, City Hall, Drome, among others.
With influences from Berlin and Detroit, his sets reach
a balance between hard and hypnotic rhythms
that will take you on a journey where body and mind
connect through sounds from the most
dark to the most crystalline.
In turn, together with VJ JOLY, he is co-creator and DJ
resident of ECLIPSE LUNAR, an audiovisual agency
that seeks to promote electronic music
underground as an artistic expression, focusing
in the symbiosis between music and images to
achieve a multisensory experience. His work
has led them to collaborate with DJs and producers
such as Nastia, Boris (Ostgut Ton/Berghain), ØTTA,
Klangkuenstler, Paula Cazenave, Candy Cox, and
The Unborn Child; as well as artists
visuals like Acid Thermal, Lola Haze and many
others.

BBGUN (Unreleased)

"A matter of unconformity (Salles d'eau)" is an electroacoustic composition exploring the complex relationship between humans and water, highlighting the vital importance of this resource on both individual and societal levels. The piece draws inspiration from the sonic interaction of a metallic water bottle with a plastic cap, generating three distinct sound elements: the metallic body, the plastic cap (with its closing mechanisms), and the contained liquid. In addition to these primary elements, a string baschet instrument has been incorporated to introduce a melodic touch, even though its notes may occasionally rest in dissonance.

Enriching the sound palette, recordings of ambient sounds captured at the University of Lille (France) and its surrounding green spaces have been integrated. Among these sounds are the reverberation of a leaf blower, bird songs, the murmur of frequented corridors, opening and closing doors, and even a fleeting passage through the Pont de Bois metro station. Sound manipulation has been limited to equalization and filtering, with occasional interventions such as a manually reproduced delay selectively attenuating sounds.

Some tracks underwent alterations in pitch, speed, and direction (reverse playback), creating new sonorities while maintaining an intrinsic connection to their original sound forms. Automations include panoramic movements from left to right and filter adjustments to accentuate certain aspects of the auditory experience.

For the mastering phase of the work, only two plugins were used: the Universal Audio Studer A800 Tape Recorder and the Teletronix LA-2A Legacy. The intention was to simply increase the overall volume of the piece while imparting a distinctive colour characteristic of my compositions, particularly achieved with the Studer A800, which I consider an exceptional tape emulator.

While the work seeks to preserve a subjective sense, its narrative structure unfolds to initially reflect the urgent human need for water, manifested through recurring metallic strikes reminiscent of children seeking maternal attention. As this need is satisfied, the composition evolves into a sonic development reflecting the dynamics of a constantly moving society fueled by the precious liquid. The climax of the work, marked by a transition to darker tones and a slower rhythm, symbolizes the gradual decrease of water, prompting reflection on the possible consequences this could entail in our society.
