Beat Merchants come again with an eclectic four track EP, '423' on Chronic.
 
Since their debut in 2019 the duo have been consistently turning heads, picking up support from the underground and from BBC R1 & 1Xtra tastemakers, Jeremiah Asiamah, DJ Target, Annie Mac & Rene LaVice as well as spins on Kiss, Rinse & Reprazent Radio amongst others. Their hard-to-miss flavour is drizzled on everything they write and this body of work is no exception. Soulful elements and razor sharp production, packed full of influences from their musical lives touching on Reggae, Hip Hop, Soul and beyond.
 
This EP features two cuts aimed squarely at the dancefloor with title track a sublime roller, '432', channelling Bristol vibes, and Dark Oceans a deep, brooding bassline workout. Then to contrast up steps the inimitable Nixxxsta with the West Coast inspired 'Ghetto', the first of a run of BM tracks in with works with this exciting vocalist. The to round off the EP Miss Trouble takes the lead with precision delivery and an effortless flow on 'Knock Em Out', with the West London based singer and rapper continuing her a strong line of D&B collaborations in fine style!

The 2nd single from the forthcoming MC Fava EP on V Recordings. German based MC Fava links up with Brazilian producer Acuna to craft a heavy hitting dancefloor tool.

With recent releases on Born On Road and V Recordings (and more), Acuna is slowly becoming a crowd favourite when it comes to the playful, jump-up inspired rolling sound that’s taking the Drum & Bass scene by storm. Fava is a talented and open minded vocalist with over 10 years experience, including highly respected residencies at Fabric and Sun & Bass plus collaborations with producers such as L-Side, Klute, Seba, B-Complex & Nymfo. He is rapidly becoming one of the go-to artists for quality vocal delivery, and this track with Acuna demonstrates it perfectly.

R3dX is back for his second EP run with Run Tingz and he didnt come here to play. After the positive reception of the ‘’Heartbeat EP’’ we knew we had to up the levels even more!

"Like Dat" explodes onto the scene with a potent fusion of UK Drill and Drum and Bass, delivering a relentless sonic assault that demands attention. The track's gritty basslines and rapid-fire drum patterns provide a pulsating backdrop for the sharp lyrical delivery, creating an electrifying atmosphere that grabs you by the throat and refuses to let go. 

Storming  onto the scene with an unstoppable force next is ‘’Massive’’ , epitomizing the essence of UK drum and bass.  With thunderous basslines and frantic rhythms create an immersive sonic landscape that pulses with energy and intensity. With its relentless drive and infectious groove.

"Squiggle" wiggles its way into your ears like a mischievous snake charmer on caffeine, with its funky beat and tantalizing bassline. Listening to this track feels like being caught in a whirlwind of neon lights and psychedelic squiggles, leaving you wondering if you accidentally stumbled into a rave in Wonderland.

"Syntax" delves into the depths of UK drum and bass. Its intricate layers of bass and haunting melodies intertwine seamlessly, creating an atmosphere that is both introspective and electrifying. With its hypnotic rhythms and atmospheric textures, this one proves to be a masterclass in the art of deep drum and bass, inviting listeners to immerse themselves in its sonic depths.

This sick track is the first of many collaboration releases with DJ Animal. The steppa beat starting in the intro is reminiscent of the late nineties and early noughties era, then when it drops a chunky warping bassline comes in over the top to give the tune a real in your chest feel. The dark mood is emphasised by the background ambient sounds and the bass stabs that follow. This one belongs in the history books of the drum and bass scene and deserves the recognition it is currently receiving.
