Pairing a scatty DnB beat and an at-times-atmospheric Jungle vibe with a wiggy 8-string guitar djenty riff that orbits around the drum pattern in a kinda Meshuggah-y way. Dark, heavy and moody but melodic, spooky and kinda dumb fun all at once. Also, more cheeky Final Fantasy melodic references. 172BPM.

Cronchball

Exploring a half-time Dubstep-ish shuffle groove at 150BPM paired with chest-rattling and sub bass, distressing lead synths and 8-string guitar metal chonk, alongside real drumming chops; also at times jumping into glitchy math-rockish electro and spooky future Hip-Hop feels slightly inspired by Nobuo Uematsu and Final Fantasy soundtracks.

Venomous

DnB production meets heavy 8-string guitar djent and possibly one of the heaviest tunes I've made. This one actually began as my attempt to try and create a drum groove similar to Aphex Twin's "Fenix Funk 5", but it drifted pretty far away from that.

All partly inspired by The Prodigy, Noisia, Aphex Twin, Skee Mask, Meshuggah, Architects, Nobuo Uematsu, Mick Gordon and stuff.

Introducing the first release from Luo since 2017, now reformed as a 2-piece consisting of multi-instrumentalists and producers Josh Trinnaman & Barney Sage. 

Originally written by Barney for his Madilan project, this was developed off of the back end of Sleep Spindles in 2016 and recording was completed in late 2017, initially for what at the time was intended to be a side project/split EP between Madilan & Luo.

This track was written after our Sleep Spindles LP with the old Luo line-up 2015 and is named after the Critter & Guitari Septavox synth that was used to create the main bass loop. 

Along with the recently released single and live video for 'Testament' this single showcases the new direction the project has taken, maintaining a blend of experimental electronic music production and live instrumentation but in a heavier and more visceral way than previously explored in Luo. 

Inspired by a desire to explore a combination of electronic music such as Jungle/DnB/Breakcore/IDM, Aphex/Squarepusher/Amon Tobin etc and more instrumentally-lead contemporary off-kilter artists like Tigran Hamasyan, The Mars Volta, Mouse On The Keys and many more, this single was the first to be written after Sleep Spindles and formed the basis for our current and yet-to-be-released material.

Alias of independent musician and producer @joshtrinnaman, formed in 2012.

Exploring a fusion of genres typically ranging from Bass Music styles such as Drum & Bass, UK Garage, Dubstep and Downtempo through to some of the weirder areas of Electronic music such as IDM & Breakcore - Luo also brings organic musicianship into the mix, with sounds and influences from a whole range of other genres including but not limited to Jazz Fusion, Metalcore, Progressive Rock, Hip-Hop, Post-Rock, Djent, VGM and more.

Born from a desire to try and play IDM-style music live with a band & with a particular focus on tekkers drumming, punchy off-kilter riffs, detailed atmospherics and moody melodics. Along the way, sometimes things get weird.
