This is an unusual track for me, I left behind a lot of the psytrance influence I often draw on, and went for something much more techy and minimal with an almost (dare i say it) dubstep style bassline. It's also unusual as it is the only track that I've completed in one day! There weren't many remix parts, but each sound was very well chosen by Mark & Marvin, with a distinctive form and function in the mixdown. After I made the beat and bassline, I made a few variations of the main groove and the path ahead became abundantly clear to me - I laid out the structure and began automating and worked at it solidly for at least 12 hours. 

The dancefloor response to this has been really encouraging, I hope it does the same damage for you guys as it has for me!!

This one is a lot different to my usual sort of style in that its very progressive and quite melodic... and i decided to put a sort of slap bass style funk solo in the middle of it :-S

This guy has been becoming one of my favourite producers in the tech-funk and breaks scene recently, hes got a great style and a really nice blend of minimalism crossed with techy psychedelia. I highly recommend checking his stuff out! :D

Celebrating 10 years of writing and performing psychedelic dance music, we're back with some fresh psybreaks for 2019!

Kicking off a series of releases, World Engine / Occupied is a two track EP featuring two mainstays of our recent sets. World Engine is faster darker and harder at 137 bpm whilst Occupied is more techy and melodic but still full on psychedelic!

Ahead of our album release planned for late 2021, we're excited to present two new psybreaks tracks.

First up is Biosphere, a brand new full on psybreaks track written remotely during lockdown, and a taster of what to expect from our album. The second track on the EP is This World, a track that we've played many times in our live sets (remember them!?), but freshly mastered and sounding better than ever.

Hello all! Check out this sneeky lil clip from my second collaboration with Hedflux. This ones called 'Alignment' on account of the mangled Russel Brand sample in the breakdown. Its always a massive pleasure writing tunes with Steve, and this one is no exception. Needless to say we very much enjoyed making this track! ;)

LuQas is Luke Trott from Brighton UK. Known for his unique slant on psychedelic breaks, he has consistently spurned the obvious in a quest to take his music down a deeper, more fulfilling route. His tracks have resonated through underground dancefloors worldwide, gaining him a loyal global following as well as turning the heads of major international djs.

The LuQas sound has been shaped by a melting pot of experiences throughout his love affair with electronic music. Hypnotic basslines draw influence from techno, intricate synth work inspired by psy trance, tough punchy tech-funk rhythms drive his tracks along and intense, energetic build-ups reward the listener along the way.

Originally spotted by Bristol tech-breaks label Dead Famous, LuQas cut his teeth working alongside stalwarts of the scene, remixing the likes of the Robosapiens and Kraymon as well as releasing well-received originals such as Replicant (9/10 – IDJ) and Altered States, gaining significant support and Radio 1 plays along the way. He has now found his spiritual home on Broken Robot Records alongside like-minded producers; Neurodriver, Hedflux, Bad Tango and Broken Eye. His debut for the label was a scintillating remix of Neurodriver’s ‘Snake Charmer’ and he collaborated with the high-flying Hedflux on the deliciously twisted ‘Reptoid’ (8.5/10 - DJMag), which continues to form the climax of many dj’s sets, as well as finding its way into the top 5 breaks tracks on Beatport.

Alongside producing, LuQas has promoted successful nights in the South East and is currently a resident for the infamous Brighton party crew, Slackers Convention, who are set to celebrate their 10th birthday this year. His energetic DJ sets transcend genres, with breaks, progressive psy, techno and tech funk all held together by their common theme of deep, techy and pulsating rhythms. With festival appearances at Waveform and Secret Garden Party, gigs all over the UK and international DJ visits to Russia and Croatia, LuQas continues to feed his passion for making dark, psychedelic beats and thrives on sharing the experience with like minded souls.
