PMx 29 - Small Crab

3024 is excited to announce "Panta Rei", the long-awaited debut album by London-based, Italian artist Ehua. This album, which comprises a collection of songs crafted over the span of a year and a half, is not just an exploration through sound but also a significant milestone in Ehua's personal and artistic development. For the first time, she explores her vocal expression while also incorporating a range of percussive and other analog and acoustic instruments, resulting in a distinctive set traversing various corners of the bass music continuum.

Accompanied by unique artwork created out of concrete by Jeroen Erosie, a booklet with background and photography and a short eponymous film, 'Panta Rei' represents an intricate 'gesamtkunstwerk'. An exciting blend of various media with contributions from a range of artists, of course all centered around Ehua's beautiful and intimate music.

"Panta Rei" will be released on May 2nd, available on vinyl, as well as digitally and in booklet format. 3024 X Planet Wax are hosting a launch event on April 24th in South London.

@ritabass is a Naarm/Melbourne-based producer & DJ regularly playing across her city & now teaming up with Rakhi’s ‘Night Shop Records’ (@nightshopppp) for her debut EP ‘Reimagining’.

In amongst a series of production hiatuses to focus on her writing, Rita has returned for an EP bursting with emotion and genre-defying sounds. The EP’s second track, ‘bassbassbass’, is no different.

‘bassbassbass’ is, unlike the name suggests, an angsty, emotive piece more like a sonnet than any ‘banger’. A 2-step anthem built on UK-styled drum programming, vocal harmonies and an addictively driving bassline, ‘bassbassbass’ is a feminine and easily identifiable piece of art primed & ready for the club.

Of the release as a whole, Rita shared: 

“After years of playing around in production, I’ve returned to my roots — vocal harmonies, big bass, and a deep love of drums. I used to hesitate to share my music because it didn’t feel ‘right’ for the club — too vocal, too feminine, too delicate. But after playing live at Rakhi’s Night Shop event last year, I found a new found confidence in expressing my true self. I don’t care if it’s not fast enough, or not ‘hard’ enough — it’s an accurate representation of myself, and the creativity I want to share. I’m inventing my own brand of moody dance music, I call it ethereal bass – emotional, dramatic, and a true reflection of where I’m currently at”

‘bassbassbass’ releases officially via Night Shop Records’ Bandcamp on Thursday, April 10, with the full EP releasing on May 22.
