The debut release from Snoopers Charter sees Venuq & Luso join forces for a brutalist 4-track EP stemmed from the iconic BT KX100 Phonebox.

“Yeah, so basically we just drove to a phone box in Leeds at night, I set up a field recorder on the dash and dialled the box, it was proper windy and raining out there so I felt kinda bad for the guy but he absolutely smashed it.” - Venuq

The Northern duo began work on ‘Coins Only’ after Venuq flipped ‘Spirals’ from Luso’s Lost EP. The off kilter switch up paved the way for a skittish new angle and they began crafting a sub-led sound that was a whole lot darker.

‘Off Again’ swiftly became a staple in their shows, so much so that a live recording was captured and featured in the track itself, it made sense to expand on this dystopian palette - their answer was within a machine.

“Typically I know what to expect when I work with Venuq… but this time was just different. Once onboard, he drove me to all these various phone boxes. It seemed really important to him what year they were installed.. and whether they were the right model to record the raps, one of em was like an hour drive away. Fun project for sure.. I just hope he’s not too hung up on all of this.” - Luso

’Booths’ was the setting, and several reverse calls later they had the vocals dialled. Venuq discovered the digits for a ‘Mr.Garrud’ on p.1210 of an old Yellow Pages, naturally he was drafted in to provide the cuts.

It’s cold caller meets poor reception personified in ‘Displace’. Luso’s resounding admissions echo a dodgy line in this scrambled send off to the project.

Madlibs Medicine show has had a big influence on my sound since early, So it made sense to pick some beats from #5 and record some stuff.
The tracks are conveniently titled in episodes, so now the different tracks are almost like different episodes of mental states, ranging from pure ego driven righteousness to drug induced self loathing (The Medicine Show) 9 tracks in total with 10 different episodes this project is probably bi polar!
