Abstract & Friends 002 - dxrvo

All the way from Tbilisi, we have the honor to introduce Fukumachi to the 403 Podcast Series.
 
Fukumachi's musical journey began with a passion for hip-hop and jazz, eventually leading him to learn the flamenco guitar, which he played for around eight years. His transition to techno was not just a decision, but more of a natural evolution, initially leading him from house to electro and eventually to ambient. Although he has now become established in the wide spectrum of techno music, he still uses many influences from earlier times in his current sets.
 
In this mix, Fukumachi digs more in his current direction, without being a fan of genre labels that could limit creativity. His sound can best be described as unpredictable, limitless and, above all, intriguing. In this set you'll find tracks from his favorite producers, alongside some of his own creations and production work: a mix of music that reflects his evolving taste and style.
 
When we asked about his inspiration and where he gets it from, Fukumachi shares his vision, describing it as a multi-faceted force that draws energy from different sources. Whether it's the people around him, like his fiancée, or the influence of different music genres, Fukumachi puts himself in situations where energy and creativity connect. He recognizes that inspiration is not a constant presence, but can be elusive and refuses to conform to our desires. Attempting to force this can lead to chaos instead of creativity. Yet this recognition is not a setback, but rather proof of the resurrection and dynamism that is part of his artistic process.
 
With a small glimpse into the future, Fukumachi shares exciting news about an upcoming release at FORMAT Amsterdam, founded by visionary Juan Sanchez, which will be released on January 12th. Stay tuned for this exciting release and more from the 22-year-old.

Confusion is a Heidelberg-based producer and resident DJ of the Raserei collective. His dancefloor-oriented sound is characterized by highly effective rhythms, minimalist synths, and trippy pads or textures that traverse various tempos and subgenres, maintaining a consistent energy level. Drawing inspiration from his roots as a drummer and the evolving landscape of techno over the decades, Confusion also finds creative influence in his appreciation for ambient soundscapes, IDM, and other experimental electronic genres. 

Since 2017, he has been shaping the regional techno scene in Mannheim and its surroundings. Co-hosting a visionary event series at Disco Zwei, he has been instrumental in bringing well-respected bookings to the forefront.

In recent years, his focus has expanded to crafting stripped-down yet minimalistic techno tools. Alongside numerous self-releases, remixes, and various artist appearances on labels like Schimmer Records, Duplicity, and SOPTIK, he has earned recognition with releases on well-respected platforms such as Canticle, SYXT, PRX Records, and Adapter. Taking the next ambitious step, he and his collective mates decided to launch their own label in June 2022. Confusion's music has garnered support from established artists including DVS1, Luke Slater, Setaoc Mass, Rødhåd, Rene Wise, Philippa Pacho, Marrøn, Blue Hour, and Lea Occhi, to name a few. These tracks have found their way into the sets of these artists at renowned venues like Berghain, KHIDI, Bassiani, and Radion.
