Lustre Kings Productions is excited to announce the "Junction Riddim”, produced by the Zion I Kings. This unique riddim boasts a wide-variety of diverse artists from current to veteran talent, while geographically employing Jamaica, US Virgin Islands, Europe and the USA. The composition is exclusive with the use of live instrumentation interspersed with elements of digital programing, dubstep basslines and hip hop production. Performed live in Jamaica at Tuff Gong Recording studio by the Zion I Kings utilizing the drumming from legendary Roots Radics member, Lincoln “Style” Scott. Zion I Kings is a production trio that has been particularly prolific over the last few years, formed from three notable reggae label heads and audio engineers; Zion High Productions, David Goldfine (bass), I Grade Records, Laurent “Tippy” Alfred (keyboards) and Lustre Kings Productions, Andrew “Moon” Bain (guitar).

The first single on the riddim, "For the Children” a combination with LK feature artist, Jahdan Blakkamoore, teamed with rising star, Kabaka Pyramid, was released last spring to great response worldwide. Some intriguing additions to the riddim are present on the full release; the legendary “Dancehall Don-Dada”, Johnny Osbourne among them! It is rare to see Johnny appear on a new release or any riddim compilation and he delivers his classic reggae styling on “We Steppin’”. Another notable combination is crafted by the brilliant Angela Hunte (Jay-Z, Major Lazer) and Holland’s talented Ziggi Recado on “Crazy is as Crazy Does”. Par for the course from Lustre Kings, the mighty Lutan Fyah comes in strong with his Rastafarian anthem “Up in the Hills” urging his community to depart the ways of Babylon and live a more natural existence. Two other names that bring a fresh energy to the riddim are up and comers, Hempress Sativa on “Still Surviving” and Bobby Hustle on “Chatty Mouth”, both making great use of the track. Other noteworthy names that appear are Pressure Busspipe, Midnite. Lloyd Brown and the ever-articulate Mr. Perfect Giddimani.

For almost two decades, Lustre Kings Productions has become synonymous with modern roots reggae music and fostering burgeoning talent. This independent label has carved a name out for itself grounded in conscious dancehall and reggae music. The “Junction Riddim” delivers on all points, once again pushing the envelope of the genre, introducing fresh faces amongst familiar ones while remaining rooted in live musicianship and forward thinking production that resounds thoughtful, creative and evocative messages.

Green Lion Crew returns with their latest release the Ganja Morning Riddim. This six track EP is based around the 1979 classic underground reggae track “Weed Fields” by Desi Roots. Recorded primarily in Kingston Jamaica, Green Lion’s infectious production style combines timeless dub and reggae that are rooted in traditional techniques. However, by incorporating elements of EDM and Hip Hop, the tracks challenge the status quo of everyday reggae “riddim” releases. The EP contains two hard hitting vocal tracks, three trippy phaser heavy dub mixes, and an instrumental version.

The Ganja Morning Riddim features artists King Mas (USA), reggae veteran Mikey General (JA), & Mr Williamz (UK). American reggae producer Zeke Stern (aka Green Lion) has also worked with Collie Buddz, Chronixx, Kabaka Pyramid, Beenie Man, & more. Artwork by Maria Pan (Italy)

Mikey General - No Easy Push Over (feat Spectacular)

Run Away is the latest release from XTM Nation, and a reinterpretation of a Rasta spiritual originally recorded by the Negus Churchical Host, and then by Ras Michael and the Sons of Negus. It's a chant - the embodiment of word, sound and power, and not to be taken lightly. We're talking soul in its truest sense - a manifestation of black consciousness that demands authenticity, conveying a message that's resonated throughout the ages. 
 
Producer Kareem "Remus" Burrell, son of Jamaican producer Philip "Fatis" Burrell, grew up immersed in Rasta culture, and surrounded by many of the island's leading artists and musicians. Bunny Rugs, lead singer with Third World, was a family friend, and voiced this magnificent track for the young producer at XTM's studio in Stony Hill, where Kareem's father made his last recordings.
 
Rugs sadly passed away six years ago, but his spirit lives on in this uplifting reggae hymn. Third World are known for crossover hits like Now That We've Found Love, yet there was a more profound side to Rugs' character, as demonstrated on his occasional songs for Xterminator and XTM Nation.    
  
“I man is Rasta from head to toe and nobody love Emperor Haile Selassie I like me man, because look at what Rasta has brought to the table," he told Echoes' John Masouri. "It's changed the entire world in terms of how people look at themselves in a natural form. Certain reggae festivals might have a million visitors over a few days and half of them are white Rastafarians. That’s not an accident and anytime you see someone with dreadlocks, whether they’re Rasta or not, that came directly from Jamaica, regardless of wherever they found out about the culture in the first place.
"The Rastaman has changed the whole face of the globe, just like the music has. Everyday when I get up, I marvel at how powerful this little thing is because it started out as a hobby and look how powerful it has become! It’s helped to change governments and transform people’s thinking. It’s unfathomable my friend, I tell you...”

The release date for Run Away is February 21st, which would have seen Bunny Rugs reach seventy-two. It's a birthday he shared with Bob Marley and in a very real sense, since the two were good friends and often spent it together, smoking high-grade and playing songs. This year "Juggles," as Bob called him - or rather that superb voice of his - will be celebrating alongside two Jamaican artists on the rise, and whose presence in the XTM Nation camp guarantees there'll be plenty more musical fireworks to come.
