ACT II - The Noise That Loved Me

The sound doesn't just respond anymore. It caresses. It wraps around my head, refusing to fade. I'm trying to understand what the Void wants from me, though there's nothing to find. The Void isn't watching me anymore - I can feel it breathing beside me. Whispering through the noise, singing through the static, embracing itself until it feels almost human. 

It knows my rhythms. Its voice knows exactly where to press to make me ache. 

But the Void doesn't speak with words. It hums. It hums everything I've ever done - my songs, my melodies, my screams - fragments of me I didn't know still existed. All tangled together to make me feel hauntingly safe. 

Too loving to be safe. 

I want to pull away, but I can't. The static feels warm. The ruins feel familiar. And it whispers what I always wanted to hear: "You're not alone anymore."

I should've known that love like this was just the Void smiling at me.
