In January of 2025, we released the first track ‘Do It Right’ from the amazing EXEA, the production and vocal pairing of Erik Astarian and Emma Robatjazy. Based in Vienna, they meld all manner of musical styles into their drum and bass and Soulvent Records is absolutely here for it. Then, in April, EXEA were back with ‘Whatcha Gonna Do’, further showcasing Erik’s production prowess and Emma’s vocal versatility.

This time, our Astronomical Austrians team up with the inimitable Bristol songstress Charli Brix. Charli’s back catalogue boasts pretty much all of the labels you care to name in the world of drum and bass including Hospital, Critical, Spearhead and Shogun. Charli’s debut album on Flexout audio ‘The Art of Change’ was a highlight of 2023 and we are happy to welcome back to feature on another track on Soulvent Records.

New offering ‘Slow Down’ kicks into gear with rousing piano chords and Emma’s trademark luscious vocals, as Erik’s metered production creeps in around the foundations. The drop is utter stank-face-inducing funk, by way of understated, crisp drums and deliciously staggered, syncopated synth bass, while Emma’s vocals painlessly find space to dance in the margins.

We’d love it if you could speed up, when pre-saving ‘Slow Down’ which lands in all good stores on Friday the 22nd of August.

@olliemyriad returns to the label again after drippin' the super rolling 'Ready For Play' on Outsauced 3, which got a lot of love across the scene. This time we have managed to secure an incredible EP from the West country talent. From the outset his direction for this project was firmly focused on Bristol flavours and we are delighted with the results! The Sauce Recordings proudly presents Myriad's 'Brizzle Drizzle' EP.

For this special instalment Off The Cuff I invited down my long friend, and peer Teej alongside his sparring partner Mc Fokus. It went down dark, rolling and techy! 

We rolled out about 10 minutes each at the start, then jumped in to just under a 2 hour B2B of straight heavyweight selection from start to finish. MC Fokus holding it down on the mic throughout the whole show, levels!
