Amadeus sees it’s catalog graced yet again by New Zealand outfit Chaos In The CBD. The kiwi brothers, birthed Ben & Louis Helliker-Hales, are no new faces to the label, or the wide variety of genre-bending acronyms they encompass. Having recently relocated from tropical Auckland to damp London earlier this year, the two take their productions along with them in their latest efforts, 816 To Nunhead.

Title track and aside, “816 To Nunhead,” is tinged with what’s left of summer. A nostalgic tune built for the sun and soaked in funk. It’s a track reminiscent of early french disco, almost as if built for the two robots themselves. Guitar plucks and hi hats flow seamlessly throughout the tune, aided by a glorifying vocal, “I would like to think of my music as just an extension, an extension of me of today or whatever.”

What emotion of freedom and escape evoked on the Aside can be contrasted on the flip, “78 To Stanley Bay,” a tune built behind the ever looming theme of loneliness. Accompanied by a live trumpet courtesy of Isaac Aesili, ’78 To Stanley Bay’ tells us a story, or rather a journey, built behind dirty hats and delayed keys. This is a track fashioned for everywhere but the club, and we absolutely love that.

Today's premiere comes on Lost Palms, a side imprint from underground stalwart @shallnotfade. Lost Palms is set to release "Goin Good," an EP by Salt Mines co-founder and lo-fi techno practitioner @Rudolf-C --- and, true to the imprint's name, it sounds literally as if it's aimlessly wandering a beautiful desert island, with nothing more than the sun in it's face and the breeze in its hair.

The cut is "Da Mind Da Body Da Soul", the A1 on this project. Dusty snares and halcyon pads fill the spectrum as the track begins to gather steam, slowly sprinkling in low-end pulses and flutters of a vocal sample that help give the cut it's overarching shape. After a short breakdown that makes room for a pummelling bass line and crisp hats, the full presence returns to soak listeners in a truly balmy, and stomping affair.

Tracks like this don't necessarily carry the weight to bring the house down at peak time; on the contrary, it's the type of tune that can catalyze a dance floor early on to move away from the stresses of daily life, and to pivot fully into the aural journey ahead. This one is without question for da mind, da body, and da soul.

Felipe Gordon from Bogota is one of THE names right now in the jazz infected house & broken beat scene that is growing so much these days. This is his 2nd EP on Toy Tonics and its a step forward for him musically: he started to include more vocals and worked with colombian vocalist Paula Pedraza. Gordon’s music is special: with his background as a colombian (with that great heritage of musicianship that the country has) and as a indie rock musician (he used to play in bands for years) - he has a very own vibe. His tracks have much more groove than lot of the sample based stuff you get to hear currently.. and his production style is more variable and musically interesting than lots of other stuff outside. Check these 4 new tracks. Especially the 2nd tool, wich adds some freshness to the current disco vibe: Binging in a punkfunk bassline that could have been made in 2005 from Disco-Not-Disco artists like Chicken Lips, Headman or Playgroup. This is Post - 90ies - Revival music :)

With his stripped-down emotional love for music and kind soul, Leipzig-bound beatsmith and all round top geezer Luvless has been steadily cementing his reputation as one of contemporary house music’s finest.

Luvless is known for his work with Rose Records – a label he started with four other friends back in 2011 – and a smattering of appearances on several other labels. slamming down dusty disco edits as well as athomspheric house belters. Since 2017 he’s been focussing on his new project Velours Records. a vinyl outlet for different avenues of the Luvless sound and guest appearances by friends.

His music has been described as sweet, gentle even, but banging at the same time. It sometimes pays homage to the old Kerry days with extra magic dust sprinkled on top.
